I've tried to like In Absentia' date=' I really have, I have preferred what I've heard of Deadwing though. Porcupine Tree are, with Marillion the UK's biggest prog bands but I just cant get into them, Steve Wilson has a terrible vocal to my ears, but the band do sound better with Wes on guitar, I saw them at the Lemon Tree in about 97 and live they still did nothing for me. They are great musicians tho, and to me Barbieri defined the PT sound as much as Wilson.

haha yeah i know of your "mild dislike" for steve wilson, as a person i myself would hate him (infact i cant stand him) but his music is simply genius in my view. its great to get a decent prog thread going for once!

from what i have heard i would have said the "the yes album" was the best...yes album. i dont agree with ghost reveries being the top opeth album, its a great record but nothing on blackwater park or still life. im glad to see in absentia by porcupine tree in there its a great album
