  1. Megadrive. I was actually the best at The Lion king...although it took me a few goes to get past the Stampede level. fucking Wildebeest. Sonic was the best thing ever and i have fond memories of spending many days kicking my brothers ass at Road Rash by blootering him offscreen at the start of each race. Fantastic.

dude, the stampede level was the easiest!it took me like 10 yrs to figure out the cave level at the end.

anyhoo close call but would have to say megadrive, just.purely due to mortal kombat, eternal champions and toe jam and earl

  2. i'm draftng an article for a uni project which i have to hand in at 4:30.it has to be on an environmental issue which will appeal to the public.i'm doing my article on the effect of roads on species populations, the article itself is going ok but i need a REALLY catchy title for it.having just spent the last three hours in a windowless lab working with shrimps(fun) i'm running a little low on inspiration.

anyone can think of somethng snappy i can use ?

a pint to whoever can help!!

  3. an overblown disappointment of epic Phantom Menace-esque proportions.

    fucksticks.

    really?

i was really looking forward to this one-heard a fair few tracks, not in order or anything, wasn't sure at first but they were real growers, haven't heard the album as a whole yet,was gonna buy it later today

damn, was really looking forward to this one!

  4. waiting room-fugazi(13 songs)

    i'll find you-hundred reasons(ideas above our station)

five kids go-hell is for heroes(the neon handshake)

    futures-jimmy eat world(futures)

son et lumiere-the mars volta(deloused in the comatorium)i LOVE this one-it's just the way it builds up and seamlessly connects into inertiatic esp, actually can i have both together since there's nae a gap?it's just so bloody....(is inspired by the my bloody valentine post...)

    994the_mars_volta1-med.JPG

(disclaimer..realises there are more than three people in the mars volta but is world's worst mspaint user ever.also realises that it is not only omar who has eyebrows, see above, alsotheir afros probably don't double in size between songs, again see above.)

hmm i guess the above could KINDA be used for HR as well

  5. as it was craig's birthday,Aberdeen University's ghost and robot society went along to wish him a happy birthday,on the way they ran into jarvis who was also about to wish craig a happy birthday. As jarvis' legs were REALLY bandy,he had managed to get one foot stuck in a trannsylvanian swamp (AGAIN!) so the ghosts and robots decided to help him free.Unfortunately the master evil robot hiding out in the forests of germany decided to take this opportunity to attrempt world domination and sent out a signal to turn all the robots to evil.the signal was sent and bounced off jarvis' legs and all the robots from aberdeen to trannsylvania became evil.he rise of the machines began.

recognising their friends had turned to the dark side, the ghosts attempted to regain control but were distracted when a particularly cunning robot sent a holographic image of pacman racing in the other direction.

    994PacMan.jpg

shit, thought jarvis and cried out for help.luckily as the sound echoed of his bandy legs, his cries were heard by craig who grabbed his guitar and flew to the scene where robocop and the huge big fuck off robot that the power rangers summon were trying to take da power back.

wtf, thought craig, while avoiding robocop's gunfire.all the robots in the world are turning evil and some stupid fuckers send robots to tackle the situation.

    1774allcop.jpg

it looked as if we were all doomed.

    no,really

    1774doom-med.jpg

when craig suddenly remembered that sounds of over 30kHz could make the robots' heads explode.

luckily, craig's guitar was actually the new physical embodiment of dracula and so could produce sounds of the frequency of an echolocating vampire bat.

    yos.

positioning himself in a position where the echoes of the frequencies would bounce off jarvis' legs sufficiently enough to destroy all the robots craig reached for the 21st fret and raised his pick in the air as all the robots looked on in horror.

    let's rock!

    happy birthday craig!

  6. It was a party there that made me realise I'm glad I never went into halls. Don't get me wrong' date=' the party was really good fun and the flat owners were really cool people, but I'd go mental at losing stuff all the time and noise and stuff. I'm a grumpy old man at heart.[/quote']

yeah that one!bloody hell-Grant and his kick-ass jager party.that was scary!

  7. As I've been reading the thread dozens of chocolate bars have been mentally shortlisted' date=' and then rejected. Finally I have chosen:

Those ones with two biscuits with chocoloate in the middle!

    I don't know what they're called though. I know. I'll draw a picture.

    * * *

It's not a very good picture but does anyone know what it's called?

I also missed out the s on biscuit in my haste to find out its name

    that's a triple-fox do them and they're ace!!

penguins are awesome,so are classics and these biscuits called rivas that have like wafer and another wee layer of orange chocolatwe, kinda like a timeout but better

  8. i liked it,the sound was a bit better down the front,i was down there for ghostride and hell is for heroes who were both excellent but stood at the back for biffy and thought the sound was a bit muddy and there was a fair bit of feedback, wasn't THAT bad though.

really enjoyed all three bands pretty much equally, caught the last three ghostride songs and was really impressed, nice sound, lots of energy, hell is for heroes were my favourite on the night, really like the sound of the new stuff, their set felt really short though!biffy were great again, think their singing ability really showed last night-particularly before there's no such thing as a jaggy snake-those harmonies were awesome!crowd was good fun too, played pretty much everything i wanted to hear except from stress on the sky which they never play anymore!:(

all in all was a really good night
