  1. I listen to quite a lot of blues at the moment, would be good to see more live blues around here. I have a couple of friends that would definately go see blues shows.

I'm not sure about venues, if you could get a good bill together and promote it well then most of the smaller Aberdeen venues would work.

  2. In no particular order:

At the Drive In- Relationship of Command

Interpol- Turn on the Bright Lights

    Jeff Buckley- Grace

Jimi Hendrix- Axis: Bold as Love

Stevie Wonder- Songs in the Key of Life

    Portishead- Roseland NYC Live

Queens of the Stone Age- Songs for the Deaf

    Rage Against the Machine s/t

    The Beatles- Revolver

Willy Mason- Where the Humans Eat

  3. OK, i've selected install and agreed to the user licence agreement and now ive got a box listing the partitions on the hard drive (-,C, E) with the options to install windows on the individual partitions, delete the contents of a partition or exit.

    What do i choose?

  4. The above instruction worked and now im at a black screen that says:

    Microsoft Windows XP Recovery Console

The Recovery Console provides system repair and recovery functionality

Type EXIT to quit the Recovery Console and restart computer

    c:\>

So yea, what do I enter now? Presumably nothing has been done yet so I don't enter EXIT

  5. The view from the window of my bedroom when I was about 3. We lived in the penthouse of a skyscraper in Abu Dhabi (where I was born). I had a huge window in my bedroom and seeing all the multicoloured lights of the city at night is the earliest thing I can remember. The image is ingrained in my memory.

Other things I can remember from around that time:

-Drinking a carton of mango juice at the beach (I apparently drank it all the time but now I can't stand it).

-The fish tank I had in my room (my most prized possession apparently).

-My nanny Lillian (who took care of me and my sis while my parents were at work) building a fort out of sofa cushions with me.

  6. Update:

The laptop is still on the fritz but I spoke to Dell yesterday and they said they'd send me the discs I need and they have managed to do it (first good thing to come out of Dell tech support).

The Discs they sent me (and the info on them):

Drivers and Utilities-For reinstalling Dell Inspiron System Support (Blue in colour)

Operating System- Reinstallation CD Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (Lilac in colour)

Application-For Reinstalling Dell Inpiron Eurotools System Software (Green in colour)

Application-For Reinstalling Dell Inpiron Eurotools System Software (Blue in colour)

So I inserted the lilac CD but I'm not sure how to get to this setup screen to choose repair, just inserting it didn't do anything.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  7. Problem:

I haven't been able to find the disc so I have borrowed one from my friend across the road. It's a purple XP set-up CD (does it matter if it's one for a desktop?). Now I'm not quite sure what do do with the disc, I've inserted it into the laptop then went to the boot menu, clicking to boot the hard drive did nothing. The error message said to click 'r' at some point to initiate repair but im not sure when to press it.

Again, any help would be appreciated.

  8. Sorry to harass you guys with another computer help question my my laptop is screwed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its a Dell Inspiron 510m notebook running Windows XP.

When I switch it on it has the initial windows screen but then goes to an all black screen with a white bar filling up across the bottom of it, when the bar is almost full I get the message:

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

    System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup sing the original Setup CD-ROM.

Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

My problem is that my laptop (which i bought really recently) didn't come with a startup disc (as far as I can see I got 3 discs and none of them are a startup one). Everything came pre-installed (this is the same as with my desktop comp, everything came pre-installed).

Any suggestions on what to do? I haven't been able to get through to Dell Support all day and now they are shut.

    Cheers in advance.

  9. This threads probably a bit of a long shot but i just found a CD by a Japanese Rock band called Brahmen' date=' Who i saw at Lava (yes that long ago) supporting King Prawn. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything of them at all cos this CD's F'ing quality and i want more!![/quote']

I was at that show, it was fucking awesome. I remember their singer trying to run up the wall at the side of the stage.

    Quality stuff :band:

  10. Im a tele man these days but I do still own a Pacifica which is basically a strat. I used to thing that strats were much better to play (i think the body countour at the back had a lot to do with it) but the tele I have now (USA Deluxe) had a countour at the back and the feel and sound of the tele just suits me more.

    Strats are still quality though.

  11. When a shop owner gets Pogo sticked to death by the Leprecaun in the movie 'Leprecaun' (one of Jennifer Aniston's first films, she doesnt like being asked about it now as it is terrible but hilarious).

All of the actor deaths in 'Team America:World Police' are pretty good.

  12. I have S1 switching in my USA Deluxe Tele. S1 means that when i put the pickup selector in the middle position and press the button it puts the two singlecoil pickups in series rather than parallel causing then to sound like a humbucker.

It offers more sounds with a strat as they are more S1/Pickups combinations possible.
