  1. Technical probs with the mic aside... His voice has lost the power... And what was with those 'woh-oh's' and so on... Would be curious to see some of the heavier numbers and how he handles those... But the energy of the performance just wasnt there... They guitarists have just copied slash's sound/solos too, which just looks and feels strange to me...

  2. Hi folks..

I have a main band on the go called Midnight Noise, I have played guitar for 6-7 years, and am also a trained singer... And im looking at maybe putting a band together to play orginal songs in the vein of Snow Patrol, Grim Northern Social, Coldplay, Bon Jovi, PEarl Jam... Well just a bit of everything really... (Although dont want to be a carbon copy of any of those bands!)

Looking for committed and talented musicians... another guitarist, bassist, drummer and maybe even a keys player if anybody is interested drop me a line on here and let me know what you think... Please no time wasters... Will be looking for a minimum of once a week practice, and will look to do some serious gigging.

PS- If you can sing too that would be useful.. Would love to get some harmonies going...

  3. Fantastic Marco came back... And as much as I normally not an Ebdon fan... He played a great final frame, under that pressure.. and he was practically in tears by the end of it. Great semi final it turned out to be...

This evening will be interesting though.. I never discount ronnie... But Dott only needs the one frame from the outset.

  4. Hendry played some absoloutely shocking shots... especially on the final black. But there you go... THere are oalways surprises at the world champs.

The green 888.com boards and stuff will take a little getting used to...

  5. I like the direction guys... some cool sounds in there. Rory man, you should sing like that more often in TMNC, a bit off key in places, but the more times you sing the melody in rpactice and so on, you'll get more confident with it.

Particularly in song 1, you could be done with something with more of a change of pace... The bit at the end for me comes in too late in the song, some more time changes would be good.

Song 2 was my preferred listen though... Some great keys/synthy ideas in there... ANd big guitar work. Love the guitar riffs in this one. Would like to hear a bigger bass sound wheeler... THis one has a strong band sound, but you could have some really great vocals in this song...

Good steps in the right direction guys.. look forward to a gig! And if you ever need additional vocals you know where I am.. Great stuff for melodies in there.

(Hope you guys are still in MNC too though wheeler/rory.... )

  6. I am looking for an experienced pianist/accompanist to work with in practice and in gigs. Possibly to look at building an ensemble in the future, buit mainly looking for an accompanist. I am interested primarily in swing/blues/musical theatre music, with some carfeully chosen contemporay songs for good measure. The more experience the better in this case, although anybody who knows a piano like the back of their hand... Please drop me a PM or reply

    Cheers,

    Paul

  7. Hi there,

Just putting an idea out there..

I am looking about trying to put a wee ensemble together of mixed ages young and old, and of many different instruments, to play some music in the vein of Sinatra/Rat Pack, Some stuff from the musicals, a little jazz, even some blues. I am primarily a singer, and have access to some odds and ends of music, although any help on this front and on the organising front would be helpful!

It would require one practice a week possibly, and gigs would be mixed I guess... JUst if there is any interest in maybe putting something like this together let me know.

NO timewasters please... Looking for committed, confident musicians to put together an exciting band to hopefully play at a variety of private and public occasions.

PS: If anybody knows of a jazz/swing/blues band looking for a singer or welcome to singers, please can you let me know? Cheers
