  1. This is just a wee message - for anyone who doesn't know yet - to confirm that The Gloria Flaw have decided it is within the best interest for everyone involved for us to call it a day and split up. This is due to the fact that cirumstances have changed considerably within the band over the past wee while due to members relocating and starting uni at Edinburgh and Glasgow, and uni commitments within Aberdeen itself. With the band being spread out over Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Kilmarnock we decided that it's going to be incredibly difficult and impossible for us to continue in the way we want to. Our gig with Jetplane Landing and Fickle Public on Sunday 26th at Kef will be our last gig in Aberdeen, so if you can make it along we would really appreciate the support. We'd like to thank everyone who has helped and supported us, bought our cd's (which are still available from the band and one-up!), wore our tshirts, came to our gigs, and to everyone who showed interest in us, thank you so much.

Look out in the future for new rawk from former TGF members...

    :band:

    Thanks

  2. I'm sorry but Johhny Truant are nothing on bands like Jetplane in my opinion. If I'm to go to one of these gigs it'll be gloria flaw' date=' if they are in fact "calling it a day".[/quote']

We are most definately splitting up as everyones circumstances and commitment's have changed. Our drummer, Ray, is going to Edinburgh for uni, our guitarist, Doug, is going to glasgow, and our singer Lewis will be on placement alot this year and spending alot of time back in Glasgow, so the band will be a non-existant entity. But don't worry, look out for some new rawk from former tgf members in the future

  3. Track listing is -

A Fight With Something You Can't See (the one with the funk ending)

Template For Dominance (on demo cd, 3 way shouty/screamy song)

The Right Light (the instrumental on which lewis also plays guitar)

The Difference Is (the song we usually close our set with)

  4. For anyone who is interested in the band, we've finished our new EP "A War With Words" and we're having a launch party in Forres on Sunday 18th July, details are -

    The Gloria Flaw

    Findo Gask

    The Upstarts

    Dan Against The World

    Sunday 18th July

However, they will be on sale for our mini tour, and the first date of that is 31st July at the lemon tree. The mini tour consists of -

31st July - The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen. Doors 9pm, 5.

1st August - The Portland Club, Inverness. 3

    5th August - QMU, Glasgow. 3

6th August - The Loft, Forres. Doors 9pm. (supporting thisGIRL and X is Loaded) advance tickets 6, 7 on the door.

We'll post as soon as our EP is available in One-up (Aberdeen), and Sound & Vision and Urbanology (both in Elgin).

If anyone would like to be added to our mailing list contact us at thegloriaflaw@hotmail.com.

    Cheers

  5. After much consideration and thought we've decided to pull in a temporary second guitarist to fill the missing gap. We did have the idea of being a 4 piece, which is still the case, but due to us having an EP launch and 4 gigs during the first week of August we decided that there simply wasn't enough time to re-work our songs in time, so we've got Doug Wilson (ex-marcy's monster parade) from Forres to play with us so we can honour the gigs that we have been booked for. Thanks for everyones words of encouragement and we can guarantee that the band will not fold as a result of Ross leaving, we're going to rebuild and try become as strong as possible for the future.

If anyone is interested in coming to our ep launch party the details are -

    The Gloria Flaw

    Findo Gask

    The Upstarts

    Dan Against The World

    Sunday 18th July

    The Mosset Tavern, Forres

    Doors 7pm, 4

    Cheers

  6. ...i was so pissed off the last time they played in forres and not aberdeen...

their last tour was of the highlands and islands and Aberdeen isn't the Highlands. At the cooper temple gig, Lewis (The Gloria Flaw singer) was signing autographs for fans of Biffy... apparantly Ben told him to sign the posters etc with Biffy as a laugh...

Lewis used to play in a band with Ben and James from Biffy, Ben and Lewis on guitars and james on drums, they tried to get simon on bass but he was having none of it. And Biffy Clyro's first gig was supporting Lewis' band, Biffy played Nirvana and Weezer covers ,and now look at where Lewis is - supporting Biffy in a cow shed in the middle of no where! What an anti-climax for the boy...

  7. umm' date=' you're still playing the nomad am/eating paper night on july 31st right?[/quote']

Yeah we're still playing, for the moment The Gloria Flaw are staying a 4 piece, we're playing all gigs that we've confirmed, these including our ep launch on the 18th july at Forres, the lemon tree on 31st July, Inverness 1st Aug, QMU Glasgow on 5th Aug and supporting thisGIRL on 6th Aug. If we decide we can't pull it off as a 4 piece then we'll draft someone in, but for the moment the plan is to gig as a 4 piece.

  8. The Gloria Flaw would like to announce that guitarist Ross Watson has left the band due to other commitments. The decision was totally amicable and we fully support Ross in whatever projects he chooses to persue next. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Ross for his hard work and commitment to the band over the two years he was a member. We are saddend to see one of our founding members leave but we apperciate all that he has done and wish him every success in the future
