  1. ... but the singer made a substantial deal of it before their last song and' date=' if truth be told, made a bit of a cunt of himself onstage. I lost any respect I could ever possess for that band there and then...

....I quite like Reasons Are Red....[/quote']

On that note... come see Andrew Corse, the frontman of Flight19, play in his new band Reasons Are Red at Kef on Sunday 24th April, supporting Sucioperro, Degrassi, & Brigade. 7pm

  2. Martin Prendagast ATRC (One of the funniest/rudest band you'll ever see)

Reasons Are Red (Aberdeen punk/funk/rawk band)

The Upstarts (Elgin's Ska punkn outfit)

    + DJ's

    TONIGHT (Thursday 24th March)

    at the Forum!

First band on at 9pm sharp.

It's either free entry or 1 entry (can't remember which!)

If you can make it along it will be awesome. Apologies for such short notice, we only found out about the gig ourselves this morning...

  4. Kris Watson was in the band if that's what you were thinking Dave. I'm guessing now he's not and instead they have drafted in a complete los... I mean' date=' uh... Maxi :D[/quote']

Kris decided it was within his own interest to leave the band last week or so as he's got alot on at the moment in his personal life and wasn't sure if he could commit to it, plus his general feeling is that he's lost all enthusiasm for playing in bands, which is a shame as he's a talented guy. So Maxi is in on guitar to steady the ship once again.

Friday should be good if anyone is interested in coming along, if not then fair does

  5. If anyones interested in seeing Reasons Are Red play, we're playing Kef this Friday night.

    Pure Lead

    Dear John

    Reasons Are Red

    Weeping Jesus

    + another band

(it's gonna be a 5 band bill, I can't remember who Paul said the 5th band is, and the above is not in order of appearance)

    Friday 25th Feb

    Doors 7pm

    4

We have tickets if anyone would like one, just get in touch. We'll have a couple of tracks available for download aswell... soon...

  6. Yup, they're back with a bang! Played Dundee tonight (and when i say tonight i mean thursday), they're playin Inverness on Friday night aswell. They've got a single coming out in April time (keep your eyes pealed on mtv2!) and also an album coming out (which is ace!)

Their next gig/tour details which are confirmed are...

15th - Glasgow, Barfly (also playing someyoungpedro and Carson)

16th - Fort William, Fusion (all ages show)

17th - Dundee, Reading Rooms (also playing Spyamp)

    18th - Aberdeen, Moshulu

    April:

    01st - tbc, maybe preston

    02nd - Devizes, The Cavalier

They have plans to do a wee tour in Ireland aswell

  7. I'boy Watson played with them at the lock up the other night' date=' but it could hardly be regarded as "Kris's new stuff" seeing as he didn't write it...[/quote']

True enough but he did have input into a few of the songs. He'd only practiced with us 2 or 3 times before the lockup gig so we didn't have a chance to totally experiment with the songs. But now we're going to focus on writing new stuff with Kris (well thats the plan!) as Niall is pretty much bursting at the seams with ideas for songs.

Also, now i see why steve has an afro... not for style but as a bloody crash helmet for when Kris is jumping about! :D ha ha!

If anyone does want to catch us play... well we don't actually have any dates in Aberdeen until the rescheduled gig with Aereogramme (provided Paul still wants us to play) which is March. Playing Glasgow and Edinburgh in March aswell.

[here's the self promo bit...] if anyone wants to be on our mailing list then email us at reasonsarered@hotmail.com [oh the shame of self promotion  ]

  8. most disapointing is the fact that the only cider available is this big bottles of piss at 2.80 a bottle. Fuck' date=' I'm not drinkin that stuff again. It was what I'd imagine Woodpecker would taste like. But i've been told never to drink Woodpecker cos its shit.

anyway this gig should be a larf. Reason is Red were amazin at the mountain men gig.[/quote']

Come see us play as a 4 piece... should be interesting...

  9. supports are Reasons Are Red (former Gloria flaw members) and Turning13. Tickets 5 from support bands, 6.50 on the door... that's roughly a pint difference, or a bus fare home if you're under 18 :partyboy: it'll be a good gig, everyone should come along. Will be good to play after an exam in the afternoon about the European Union... oh the joys of uni...

  10. What no Fickle Public? Am I the only one whose slightly shocked by this? I know not that many peole have been keen on the name change but come on! They are one of the best rock bands in Scotland right noo and their new album is going to blow yr heads off!I kid ye not' date=' it's awesome![/quote']

I second this, Fickle Public all the way! The album is shit hot! Was anyone really aware of fickle public at the last awards? People still call them Purple Munkie so i'm assuming not... 'mon the public!!

  11. The Gloria Flaw played at the QMU and the sound was gash, the sound guys didn't seem bothered at all about how any of the bands sounded. Soundchecks kept getting delayed due to complaints about the noise, and even though the gig was advertised as 14+ (and tickets sold in advance to people over 14) the bouncers refused to let anyone in under the age of 18... so the other bands took in about 30 under agers through the back door and gave them wrist bands that only bands had... bouncers must've thought there was about 20 bands playing, there wasn't, there was 7... or 8? i think? anyhoo...

  12. funk!now we are talking

any advances on that demo mr niall

    i will review it on

    www.audiodropouts.co.uk

I know this reply isn't quite as good as getting a reply from Mr N. Slater himself, it's much better :puke::king:

We're hitting the studio after the gig at Drakes to fight for some rock justice. We (we being Niall) will shoot you off a copy once it's done and dusted :band:

And i've no idea who this other band is? Red by choice? :moody: sorry :(

  13. For anyone who is remotely interested, the band formed of former gloria flaw members known as "Asimov Advises Anger" has had a name change. This is due to the fact that we had to repeat our name approx. 5-10 times before anyone understood what we were saying, and also the confusion of Asimov and Asimov advises anger. So anyhoo... we are now called "Reasons Are Red", and we're playing Dr Drakes on Wednesday 24th November with Mountain Men Anonymous and Politik, doors 8pm, 4 entry.

  14. --------------------------

    Fickle Public

    Distophia

    Asimov Advises Anger!

    Friday 29th October

    Moshulu

    4, Doors 7pm

    --------------------------

3 Former members of The Gloria Flaw (Niall (guitar/vocals), myself (bass), Dave (was the drummer in tgf before Ray joined) are to appear with our new band 'Asimov Advises Anger!' at Moshulu on 29th October with 'Fickle Public' and Birmingham band 'Distophia'. Asimov Advises Anger! are quite whacked out, off-kiltered rawk music. It's 4 entry and will be an ace gig.

Fickle Public, who have just finished their debut album due for release in 2005, are currently at the top of the Scottish music tree. They have just completed a tour of the UK with Jetplane Landing and also recently signed to Small Town America. With a simply stunning live show Fickle Public will leave you speechless with amazing time signatures, stunning vocals and metal riffs that will blow your mind. (www.ficklepublic.com)

Distophia make the trip all the way from Birmingham and have only ever come to Scotland once as far as I know. Having achieved golden melody with vast, raging dissonance the band released their debut album Soda Lake with the standout track Joanne snowballing in popularity, receiving heavy rotation on Radio 1, XFM and MTV 2. Described by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as awesome these guys you wont want to miss. (www.distophia.com)

If you can't catch this gig then this is part of a mini tour and the same bill will be appearing in Forres the night after (30th October) at the Carlton, and Bannermans in Edinburgh on the Monday (1st November). check www.theymademedoit.co.uk for details of the other dates

    :band::up:

    Cheers
