i use a marshall valvestate2000 AVT-100. i use the OD1 channel (the lighter distorsion) with my les-paul and the OD2 (the heavier distorsion) with my fat strat. this is just cos it sounds better on the different guitars.

i have the EQ set like this:

    bass 8

    mid 4

    treble 7

    presence 7

and the volume as loud as i can get away with in my bedroom without knocking stuff off shelves in other rooms and my mum complaining.

also i leave both channels unscooped basically because i can't get it to sound good. it just doesn't work for my guitars.

if you're judging it by that i should sound like a fucking pennywise album on an acoustic so sssshhhh.

he didn't record enema of the state with an invader equiped guitar. well....................not all of it.

  4. i bought a brand spanking new fender stratocaster but like the fat strat with a humbucker in the bridge position. after much playing and jumping around my room, i found myself moderately unsatisfied with its distorsion handling capabilities as it sounds like Mr. Delongues guitar on enema of the state. but anyway, i have three options in mind: seymor duncan distorsion, seymor duncan invader, or d'marzio super distorsion ones.

what one do you think i should opt for?

  5. the other day i bought a fender fat strat with shiny metallic blue paint and it kicks ass. but it has shit strings. on the back of the guitar on the tremolo cover is a sticker stating that it comes equiped with fender super bullet end strings. the idea is that the bullet shaped balls on the ends of the strings fit the tremolo bridge thing exactly and apparently it maintains tuning stabilty or some shit like that.

but personally i think that they sound absolutely shite.

    anyone think the same/otherwise?

i used to use a squier precision bass in gilman. it sounds actually quite good for like 125 brand new.

and us. Should be a quality night out and a welcome excuse to use make - up!
