Got Halo3 in my xbox360 deal earlier in the month, but haven't played it much. maybe this would motivate me a bit more

Joined up today,so I'm currently propping up the table. Lets see how well I do come may

Had to feel sorry for Sergio on the last day. Same thing happening on the 18th twice cost him the claret jug. Still, nice to see a golf tournament where woods didn't lead 90% of the time

Exactly Phil, it's escapism. Stripey and Gall_4185, you're so damned joyless! For one thing, don't criticize a book if you've not read it, or more to the point, if you hate the series so much don't come on a thread you know is going to contain stuff that aggravates you.
And Kris, I say again: it's a kids book. It has to be contrived, the age this was aimed at aren't really ready for post modern ironies or insanely complex plot twists. If you're going to read a book aimed primarily at the 11-16 age group then of course it will seem contrived to you (especially YOU ) because we're older, more cynical and harder to please.
Plus, of course, it's not cool to like anything really popular. And that's what this boils down to, isn't it?
Fairy nuff Kate, but while I am a cynical bastard,I'm also a big kid at heart. I guess I just hoped for more from it

Two ways to summarise this book for me would be "Underwhelming" and "Deus Ex Machina". It just came across as rushed and contrived in places

And by the way,the legal loophole mentioned in the first post closes in october when the new liscencing act comes into power.

so far I'd go with
Nine Inch Nails-Year Zero
Bloc Party-Weekend in the City
Chris Cornell's might sneak onto the list after a few more listens, the cover of Billie Jean is strangely addictive

David Gemmell- Troy: Shield of Thunder
Historical fiction set during the lead up to the Trojan war and sequel to Lord of the Silver Bow(which is an incredible read)
-
Another re-read,but this time it's Deadman Writing by Jonathan Wilson. Collected form of a series of articles written by a terminal cancer patient diagnosed at 26. One of those things that helps put life in perspective
-
Same issue here Rachie, but only with contacts who are currently online. I get through fine to contacts who just come online though

Watched it again on dvd the other night, sheer mindless fun. The quips and one liners are worth it alone, never mind the violence
