  1. What a weird questionnaire - it's like doing research on chalk/cheese.
  2. Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead - but the club upstairs at the Metro was called 'The Flesh Exchange'. Saw the Shop Assistants there too - and also went to see a double billed gig in 1985 - Meat Whiplash and Primal Scream. It was completely empty because The Cult were playing in Aberdeen the same night - but funny to remember in light of their subsequent success.
  3. I hope they disposed of it carefully :S
  4. Introducing Mise en Abyme ... a (possibly) one-off Dark Cabaret night at Club Sapphire on Saturday June 28th Featured performers are Daiquiri Dusk, Tristan Von Pianist (better known in Aberdeen as 'The Boy Who Lacks Patience'), Vendetta Vain, Malady de Winter and Oliver Densham - however there is also a steadily increasing list of surprise guest acts ranging from the gorelesque to the downright bizarre. Elizium's Nullmouse will be providing appropriate music between the acts, Antoinette will be bringing her trinkets, and there will also be mystery compres to assist with the conducting of the chaos. Admission is 7, or 5 for those deemed 'extravagantly attired'. The event begins at 8pm and tickets are available at the door only. Club Sapphire is a relatively small venue so early attendance is advised. We are also implementing a no jeans/trainers dress policy in the hope of reducing the amount of walk-ins. Further information to follow at www.myspace.com/cabaret_abyme
  5. Just read this link posted from Arric on the Elizium site (has maybe already been posted here somewhere). "Why no child is safe from the sinister cult of emo". Why no child is safe from the sinister cult of emo | the Daily Mail What a crock.

  9. That was a bit annoying ... I actually thought the proflile had been hacked or something.
  10. Ha ... normally don't enjoy Exodus much but last night was great fun. A worthy substitute indeed
  11. Want to know if Mudd is going ahead on Xmas Eve? Nobody seems to know.
  12. As suggested in the title, this is the monthly Supernaut reminder. It's on Friday 19th October in The Moorings bar. 8pm-1am. Admission is free as a bird; A ragged black carrion bird with dried blood on it's hooked beak and empty sockets where it's eyes should be. Music style: Goth / New Romantic / Electroclash / Punk / Riot Grrrrrl & anything else that seems appropriate at the time. Warning: Supernaut is not a 'classic metal' night.
  13. Just skimming over this thread - off the top of my head could add Nervous Choir, The Meteors, The Godfathers, The Prisoners, Fields of The Nephilim, The Fall ... some awful bands too like Fairground Attraction, Simply Red & Deacon Blue - all a bit hazy now. I remember Benny tried to launch a music career, singing a song called 'Ready For Action' - was very amusing. I even saw the video which featured him singing on the stage at Ritzy's and walking down that graffiti'd tunnel that used to be in the railway station. Benny where are you?

  15. Just want to add my piece. Not 'everybody' wanted it moved to a Friday - me and my friends love it on a Monday - I've only missed one since it started. As for support - I went on the first two Fridays, but it seemed people would go in, see it was empty, then opt for Moshulu because it was going to be busy, and just around the corner. So people came in and then left as the night went on, and it never got busy. Eventually by 1am I opted to follow suit and caught up with friends at Moshulu. Personally I think that although Mudd and Moshulu are aimed at different crowds, I don't reckon that there's room in Aberdeen at present for two alternative clubs on the same night just round the corner from each other. Things will pick up when the students get back - but I reckon that Mondays are the way forward.
