  1. I really like the Milennium Wheel. If you go later on in the afternoon the queues won't be so big. It's just a really cool, one-off experience and you get an amazing view.

From there it's really cool to walk over the Thames, past the Houses of Parliment, up past the Gov. buildings to Buckingham Palace. It's a really great walk and you're constantly going 'Oooh...there's xxx'. I thought it was really neat seeing all the people queuing to get into the public gallery at the Houses of Parliment.

I also thought that Wimbledon was really cool - but you're a bit out of season for that.

  2. I suppose it all depends on how clever you are, and how much work you've done in the past 3 1/2 years.

I worked my ass off for about 6 weeks before my exams - by that I mean about 8-10 hours of study a day, most days, but i'd not done an awful lot prior to that because I was so busy with my dissertation. I got a high 2.1 and a 250 prize. That worked for me anyway. But seriously, I think it's different for everyone. I'm sure people did a lot less and got a 2.1 as well.

  4. "Boy band Busted decide to split

Chart-topping band Busted have announced they are to split up.

The decision comes just days after band member Charlie Simpson said he was temporarily parting company with bandmates James Bourne and Matt Willis.

"It's a really sad day for all of us, but we've always said that if one member left then we'd call it a day," Willis told Busted's official website.

"This has been a really difficult decision and I hope the fans will understand," added Simpson. "

    Taken from BBC news. Oh-well...

  5. Thats totally bollocks. I am genuinly gutted about that. They were an absolutly fantastic live band, and i'm just glad I got to see them lots before they called it a day. I thought they were one of the few bands doing something that sounded totally unique. And they were hilarious as well.

Whats the difference between a landrover and a hedgehog? I hedgehog has pricks on the outside! *boom boom*

    Thats really sad news.

  6. On top of that' date=' FOPP's plan is probably to run OneUp out of business. Look at the signs: a much more commercial site for their business and planting themselves next to OneUp like that. Once OneUp is gone, FOPP will bump up their prices and stock up on the pop crap and they'll start to not stock the harder-to-find cds in the "minority" section... and we'll just have another fecking HMV which charges you 15.99 for albums which were released in 1997 (refers to OK Computer, which he found for a reasonable 7.99 in OneUp)[/quote']

All prices are standardised accross the whole chain, so they're not undercutting one-up just to get rid of them....Fopp's just cheap for a lot of stuff.

Personally I like the new store - it's much more like the others - spacious and modern. I use Fopp to buy cheap DVD's and books etc but I get most of my stuff on the internet now as well. It's hard to find anything cheaper than it is on Amazon, unless it's in a special promotion ala Fopp's 5, 7 etc. I like OneUp a lot - but i'm going to buy my stuff wherever it's cheapest.

  7. If one is to be organised it should be organised "fairly" quickly but not happen for a good while (couple of months) so that it can be properly promoted etc.

I would have thought that having it asap and capitalising on it being a 'current'/'hot' issue would be a better idea. Get people's attention while they are still motivated enough to do something. Also to make the most of any publicity you might get for doing it in the papers etc.

  9. I'm sorry, but does anyone think that this thread just shows how self-fucking-righteous some music fans can be?

IMHO, Rollins can do whatever the hell he wants. It's his life and he doesn't owe justification to any one of us. I agree with everyone thats stated the bloody obvious - that life doesn't stand still and that consequently your morals and opinions change over time. WOWZA was that a revelation!

Also James J. - I want to see a 1000 words on my desk by Monday detailing everything you know or knew EVER about Rollins. Anything that you do not mention but later rely on in your defence of his fan-dom may cause you to be sat on by a giant zebra. Sorry, but thats the way it goes son-ey.

And please 'rune', spare me another disparaging remark. If you think i'm that fucking ignorant, then just don't read my posts.
