  1. something which i am only realising now... LOL' date=' fairly skint at the moment, but starting a new job soon, so hopefully ill be able to afford one by the end of summer :D

what do you think of something like this .::. [url']http://www.europe-nikon.com/details.aspx?countryid=20&languageid=22&catId=119&prodId=345 ???

that looks like a film lens...so with the crop factor on the nikon it will not be 30mm more like 50mm.

if you are on a budget you honestly can't go wrong with sigma lenses there is a new 28-70mm which is a beezer of a lens and 1/3 of the price of 17-55mm. will look out some links to reviews for you

  2. with lenses you get what you pay for. you could have the greatest camera in the world but it's useless without a decent lens' date=' that's what makes the picture.

but yea, they can be quite pricey. :([/quote']

this is true...however if you are a poor photographer you are going to produce poor results even with the top of the range kit. just get to know the camera you have inside out and you will have no problems in delivering good images.

  3. so' date=' the cannon is superior eventhough it is cheaper??? and yes, i plan on doing quite a bit of low light level photography...[/quote']

try them and see what you like...

    i took the following with a d70

and a wee blip of flash on the next couple

  4. EOS 350D or d70S... that is the question' date=' i have bene recomended each one by a lot of people, the canon is slightly cheaper... but which one is better...?[/quote']

there are good and bad points to both of these cameras. canon have the edge in the digital market.

you need to goto jessops or somewhere and try them out. the 350d does feel light and like a toy to me. the d70(s) is very noisy above iso800 and results from the 350d are superior at 1600 - guess this depends if you are going to do low light photography.

fuji s3 is down in price and takes nikon lenses - nice bit of kit.

i've got a d70 and like it but under certain shooting conditions it just doesnie cope

  5. is it an older lens? try setting the aperture ring to f32 as it errors if you are using auto focus. nikon cameras come up with F:EE or similar when this happens.

if i were you mate, would be tempted to send it back and pick up an s3 as they are down to just over 600 quid now and you will enjoy the benefits of a more up to date camera.

  6. great link...

I did some scrennprinting in London' date=' and would love to do some "memorable posters" for local bands, but, they'd be too expensive to produce for simply "advertising" gigs, but, would people buy them at gigs ? and how much would someone pay for a decent sized (A2) poster ? 30 quid ? (not yer average gig memorabilia, eh!)[/quote']

how about doing some "memorable posters" for some of the memorable gigs...could start off with a limited run of say...fudge tunnel at the pelican

  8. pixmania are a total nightmare mate…

had similar experience and gave up waiting an eternity for a camera and eventually after much hassling got a refund.

Heard plenty of other folk complaining about them too

Get a refund and go somewhere else.

  9. got a hold of this last week and it's fantastic – canny recommend it enough

wished i could make the second night of zorn at the barbican where he pays tribute to crowley. moonchild is being premiered along with another new piece for choir and ensemble - Evocation of a Neophyte and How the Black Arts were Revealed unto Her by the Demon Baphomet

  10. conference of the birds is fantastic and i've prolly played this more than the debut. om really get under your skin and get better with repeated listens.

they have a split 10" coming on neurot with current 93 which is going to be a classic as well

speaking about current 93 - tibet's new album black ships ate the sky is a masterpiece. guest vox from marc almond, antony, bonnie prince billy, shirley collins. ben chasny and michael chasmore on guitar and a host of other folk. one of my albums of the year so far!

  11. Buy them all...they are all amazing in different ways. Souls At Zero was the first one I heard and have consumed them all since then. The collab with Jarboe is a masterpiece. And if they tour over here again anytime soon make sure you don’t miss out!
