I just bought one of these
Its a late 70's Peavey T-40. It looks like a cross between a Fender Precision and a Gibson Ripper, which are my two favourite basses so thats probably why I like it. It needs a good set up and some new strings, but apart from that I'm pretty pleased with it.

Stewart Lee is a favourite of mine. I always enjoy this clip.
-
They have changed it now, but it was some jaunty strummy acoustic guitar number that would only be appropriate if it was a video of a tsunami taking out Jack Johnson's beach hut.
-
Possibly the most inappropriate music for a video ever?
-
Can it be reversed at all? 'Cos chances are you'll probably hear it again otherwise.
Having my ears re-stuffed with wax is probably the same feeling as my ears hearing The Roller. At least my tinnitus had an original melody.
-
Getting my left ear syringed so I can hear again and then the first song I hear is Beady Eye's The Roller.

Listening to Red House Painters through some good headphones while drinking a nice smooth cold ale. Pure bliss.

A peavey Predator electric guitar when I was 10. Really nice American made Strat copy. I remember I tried to "age" it with a screwdriver after seeing a picture of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his guitar. Sold it a couple of years later to fund another guitar. Always regretted it.
A couple of years ago I got an Ebay account and did a search to see if I could find one similar. One came up on the first search that was the same colour. Put a bid on it and won the auction. When it arrived I noticed it had the EXACT same scratches I had made as a 10 year old some 11 years earlier, so I was reunited with my first guitar!
Its still just as nice as I remembered and the previous owner replaced the single coil at the bridge with a humbucker, which I actually prefer. I'm chuffed to bits to have it back!

If the pump says 20 quid then that's what you should be paying.
The pump will say 20 when I leave it to go and pay. Once I get to the till I am asked for 20.01. When I question this they have just said "thats what the machine says". Once I get back to the pump it does indeed say 20.01. It does not happen everytime, but it seems to mainly be when I use the Shell station near the Haudigain roundabout.
-
Rounding? The amount of litres on the pump isn't as precise as the till? Just a guess.
But I'll put 20 in and then when I go to pay I'm charged 20.01. This doesn't happen everytime though.
-
Why is it when I fill my car up with fuel an extra one pence is sometimes added on to the amount I have put in once I go inside to pay? Its not there when I leave the pump but sure enough its there when I get back.

Buskers that have amps and mics annoy me. Your busking, not playing a gig. Unless they are playing an instrument that needs to be amplified, but if its just acoustic guitar and vocal then there is no need.

How much were you thinking of for the head and the cab, Ronz?
Even a rough idea of how much you would want?

The Blue Nile. I heard A walk Across the Rooftops this year for the first time and fell in love. One of my favourite finds of 2010 by far.

A thing I like about bands stating influences is it has introduced me to bands I might not of necessarily discovered otherwise. For example, if I like a band and see that they are influenced by a band that I have not heard before I would be inclined to check that band out. I discovered Red House Painters this way after seeing them listed as an influence on Aereogramme's myspace page. I doubt I would of ever heard of them otherwise and they are now one of my favourite bands.
-
If you were thinking of taking it somewhere in Glasgow, try Strung Out Guitars. They did a fantastic job setting up my Gibson Ripper bass. Can't recommend them enough. Great shop too.
-
I managed to win some Red House Painters vinyl on ebay. Won their second self titled album for just under 17. I'm pretty please as RHP vinyl usually goes for ridiculous prices.
-
I'm pretty sure I saw a copy of 2112 in the Oxfam on Chapel Street when I was in today.

That Becks Vier ad on spotify with the terrible generic guitar rock music in the backround. No Becks Vier, I don't want to listen to your exclusive playlist of cutting edge tunes.
-
I'm hoping to catch the performance of Biran Eno's Apollo. Its one of my favourite soundtracks and to hear it live would be beautiful.
-
The track England on the new album is absolutely beautiful. I just wish the last section went on for longer than it does. Four times round (or however many times it does it) is simply not enough.
Pet Hates!

Those question things on Facebook are pissing me off. There is a girl I went to school with who seems to spend all day on Facebook answering every single question EVER ASKED. A few of the important questions she has answered today include:
"What colour are your eyes?"
"What kind of phone do you have?"
"What is your favourite flavour of haribo?"
"Which vowels does your name contain?"
Its like she thinks that it is compulsory to anwser them. No question shall go unanswered. Also who is it that is coming up with the questions? Whoever it is can fuck off too.
