  1. And if the Bassist is the main singer/songwriter.... he wouldn't be a musician??? Don't be such a silly.....
  2. Well - all will be revealed in due time.... but it's going to be a stamina contest between two participants... .. i'm looking forward to this.
  3. Fuck this... you can win it for free if you go to the gig on thursday night (tomorrow).....
  4. Ace - Onion Terror will be hosting a competition throughout our set and the winner is going to win a CD album... WOW!!! 2 contestants.... that's all we need.
  5. Having not read the book, i thought the storyline was more than predictable and the only really clever bit was the bit about time travelling - although it's still flawed because if they end up where they finished (in the room with ginger ron) they would essentially be stuck in a loop forever. I was impressed with the graphics but every twist in the plot was set up so that the youngest kids could even work it out and in VUE they even kept the lights on so that the kids wouldn't get scared.... who wants to watch a film with the lights on??? I mean - come own. Although it is essentially a kids film, aimed at young 'uns - so it's got a bit of an excuse....
  6. Does anyone know what's happening with the drum kit yet? Or bass amp?
  7. or Peavey V-Types.... I got one at 370 2 years ago and it's such an ace guitar if you don't want to shell out HEAPS for a top-of-the-range one. You get 'em with or without a floyd rose (i'd recomend without), lock tuning, 2 pickups, and a lovely curvacious body... mmmm also comes in heaps of other colours.
  8. Yea - brand new album - The Streets - 'A grand dont come for free'... listened to once - back in the box, an unwanted present..... Bidding starts at 5 - highest bid by thursday night can pick it up on thursday in toon. Go!
  9. It's still ages away though - i don't know how i'm getting down though - might have to do the old 'i'll get you a ticket if you drive' sorta deal....
  10. I'm gonna spin choons against you so hard - you're gonna wish i never spun the choons at you so hard..... BITCH
  11. Bloodhound Gang Dominate The UK 08/16/04 London 08/17/04 Glasgow 08/18/04 Manchester I've already got my tickets
  12. It's brilliant - one of those songs that tugs away at the old heart strings - with the oboe or whatever aswel it makes for a really beautiful song.
  13. Bite my root you buftie.... it's both funky and it's simultaneously 'slipknot' - what else am i gonna say? it's shagged-yer-mah-with-distortion-on-10-and-a-wah-pedal-core????
  14. I'll do a punk/rock night..... after all i did reply first
  15. I heard it at Rossco's house a while back and from what i can remember it's more funk-core than anything else....
  16. Opera-Core is probably the worst i've heard.... mostly.....
  17. Onion Terror's bassist wont be ablse to make it..... so we're importing a japanese model to replace him for the gig!
  18. LIVING END and GOLDFINGER on the same day - my life is now complete!!!!!!!!
  19. I'm up for doing it one night.... maybe even a tag team!
  20. I think it's an amazing ability to improvise - especially if you can do it in more than one key. I don't think those examples (or the ones i listened to) are 'improvisation' in the classic sense - but i'm not a big fan of 'modern' and 'minimalist' music. To hear in improvised guitar, drum, bass or trumpet solo, for me, is one of the best things you can hear. Especially if the musician knows how to really 'work' their instrument. Simon gall is one of the few local musicians that i have really enjoyed watching improvise.
  21. Addlestones does kick major ass.... to the max - although it stays cold in your stomach for hours on end. And yea, i believe the student discount is 10% i've got an aberdeen uni card - dont know what else they accept. Like sludge says "if you buy 10 drinks... thats like.... one drink free!!" I also think i saw raspberry beer last night...
  22. cKy - Inhuman creation station. (Pentatonic, 3/4, groovy singing) Fenix TX - Katie W (everything's so perfect and emotional) Zebrahead - The Real Me (such a groovy song, worthy of an appearance on any porn film EVER made) The Living End - Fly Away (Again - so perfect - catchy - amazing solo) Metallica - S&M (Metal and full-on orchestra.... need i say more) Incubus - Deep Inside (More funky madness) H2O - Memory Lane (probably my ultimate definition of modern punk) Bodyjar - Not The Same (Punk rock with so much emotion - brilliant harmonies) Beatsteaks - God Knows (Even Rico realises how beautiful this song is..) Goldfinger - Miles Away (Chants - ultimate live song...)
  23. Last night wasn't the best they've played - and the sound was absolutely crap (for PoO also) - couldn't hear guitar or vocals enough. I've seen them on their best form and they are a brilliant band.
  24. Man, i've been to the moorings heaps of times before, but last night was ace. I was introduced to cherry beer, proper coconut rum, beer that comes in stone bottles and free test tubes of Jggermeister. The drinks list is so diverse and student discounts are ace. But now it has become clear that my mission in life is to sell you guys out of cherry beer. (How much do you normally stock)
