Fresh from supporting the Pixies, My Latest Novel are coming to Moshulu
Formed just under a year ago, greenock dramatists, My Latest Novel are a baroque'n'rollin delight. These hush-a-bye kids are one of the more intriguing bands to emerge from the l;ocal rock-pool in a while and should easily find a place in the hearts of Belle and Sebastian, Tindersticks and Velvet Underground fans. the novel (as they shall henceforth be known) have already released a clutch of E.P.'s offering a quivering riot of string-laden drama and romance. Songs such as Sister Sneaker Sister soul display a keen gift for arrangement redolent of The fox in the Snow-era B&S at their best. You can also check out their myspace page here: http://www.myspace.com/mylatestnovel
Support comes from Eddison

i need a new lense, I'm looking for a second hand f1.2 one.. Sigma or Canon. What kinda price can you do for me?
-
Certainly a good recording. Heard the un-mastered one on a car stero and the production sounded good. Not really my taste in music but there are plenty of moments that even I can appreciate.
Exactly how I felt about it

I liked the Ambush game the best, not just because we won but it was a fun game to play. The girls (sorry I forgot your names), Ron, Leckie and I kicked ass on that game and covered Cloud with paint. Then Leckie gave him a sneaky shot on the ass as he was walking away.
Even though we didnt do very well it was still a fun day and I look forward to the next one.

I think i have stumbled into the wrong forum... People are actually giving constructive criticism..
My only complaint about this song is the snare sound but thats down to personal taste, it has too much of a pop to it

now the self-publicising fucks can fuck off.
I see you have been influenced by all the swearing..
-
The highlights have definately been all the "fucks" / "Mother Fuckers" and I do believe Green Day said "Faget"
And madona just said "Fuck"
-
are members of jase's team classed as champs too?
if so
fuck yeah
we were the business.

Yeah I'd be up for that - glad someone else is organising it this time..

Congratulations on a successful first night
How much was it to rent in a suitable PA for the night?
Went rented the CD player/Amplifier/speakers for 50 from the owner of Imagine and the actual PA from a friend. If this is going to be a regular thing then we will look into getting a much better PA. Although all-in-all, I thought we did a pretty good job with everything considering we organised/ran the whole gig ourselves - with help from the bands obviously.
We learned alot from the gig and I think then next time will be even better.
Thanks again to the band for playing the show - it could have turned out to be really shit. And thanks to everyone who came - I still cant get over how many people were actually there

At Long Last are playing on wednesday at Kef. Free entry.
I think We Shall Be Blessed are playing on the 29th on June but I'm not sure
-
The gig ran relatively smoothly.
160+ through the door which is amazing for an all-local lineup I think.
I enjoyed all of the bands, especially Blessed. No Stage really suited them and it was awesome to see the band mixed in with the crowd, people were going nuts for them.
-
We are aiming to have the bands finished by 10:45/11
-
Yeah we are quite looking forward to our 4th gig. Should be alot of fun. I dont however think it would be appropriate for me to reveal who offered us this opportunity, doesnt really make any difference.
The bottom line is we are playing and Stayover arent.
Na na na nana.

Bands bypassing the selection process and then there's the general lack of any transprancy of said process.
Just to add to your point about the selection process being transparent, At Long Last got offered the chance to participate. Demo? what demo?
-
Should be a fun gig

Nah, we'll see. It i get the lights sorted this week and I scrape together enough of my pennies for some more film then I will. Judging on band practises, you guys will be fun to photograph

I could be persuaded....
