seems like politics are still present in the music scene. I can understand doing favours for promoters in return for consideration when a fantastic opportunity arises but if the situation with Weapon and Tunnels is true then that goes beyond pathetic. Not giving a support slot to a band who deserve it / best represent Aberdeen's offering within a certain genre / and can increase the likeliness of the show selling out is just ignorant on the promoters part. I thought you lot were supposed to be in it for the money* Like them or not, My Minds Weapon pull in a crowd. On a brighter note, Every Time I Die in Aberdeen!?!?! I never thought I'd see the day, beats driving to Glasgow for the show too! *sarcasm (incase you didn't get it)

I think encouraging young people to become aware of local bands and the local scene is the best thing a band can do. I went to my first gig when i was about 14 to see a friends band and continued to go to pretty much only their gigs for a few months until they started playing with bands who i took an interest in. Since I was 14, I have loved bands like Quik and then progressed onto bands like Deadloss and now at the tender age of 19, having grown up with the ever changing scene, I have discovered more and more bands as well as continuing to take an interest in what the older bands are doing, whilest starting my own band, playing the music I love and also in a way - trying to return the favour to Aberdeen. I think that people have to remember the time when they started going to gigs and how old THEY were and why they started going to gigs in the first place. You have to start somewhere... We were all kids once (well... with the odd exception I guess) It's easy to look at younger people and think "Fucking hell they are really annoying" but how were you acting when you were their age?

Not quite. I just make the effort to move to get different angles whilest not getting in the way of the band / audiance's view. Try standing at the side of the stage once in a while And the first two are Flood of Red, not My Mind's Weapon...

Thanks dude I'd also say that you need to have a look at the photographers previous work cause they all have their own individual style so it's whatever suits your band the best. I'm currently look for good skaters to photograph is anyone is interested in helping me find some.

Y'know the thing i like the most about MMW is that they aren't just another "Plug in and Play" local band. You can tell that each member actually practises thier respective instruments and puts the effort into learning about their own equipment. Putting the songs aside for the moment, I think that Weapon are perhaps one of the most professional bands in Aberdeen in terms of the way they present themselves and in the effort they put in. Sure, image isn't everything but presentation makes a hellofa difference. There is nothing worse than watching a band on stage who look like they are bored and lack passion. With Weapon, they are constantly moving and providing an energetic and entertaining show. I have watched these guys since their first gig and seen the progression of the band and lately, I've been left wondering where the hell the "Local" band disappeared to... Fair enough, not everyone in a band is working towards commercial success or whatever but I think alot of bands would enjoy every aspect of being in a band if they took it a little more seriously. Yeah, you can be in a band and play to all your mates but why stop there? I think that alot of bands in Aberdeen lack the motivation and drive to better themselves. I think the fact that Weapon even considered bringing in an external sound engineers shows that they are thinking of every little thing when they play a gig which makes them stand head and shoulders above the rest. Love the songs or hate them, it would do the people who want to venture outside of the 3 or 4 venue town of Aberdeen alot of good to take a leaf out of My Mind's Weapon's book. And for the record, Weeping Jesus weren't that bad at all
