  1. Hall & Oates are ace. Can't beat cheesy Whitesnake power ballads too, great music in the car. I love 80's stuff, especially the pop (when it was at it's peak with all the cheap sounding synths). Status Quo, well I've seen them live like 5 times now and they are so consistent and always entertaining

  2. Kid Rock is total crap. He only can get airplay if he rips off another famous song. First with Metallica's Sad But True, and this year with the bastardisation of Werewolves of London/Sweet Home Alabama. Merge two classic tunes, throw in some meaningless lyrics about the summertime and hey presto all the teenyboppers are sold.

Take That had an ok comeback, now all their new songs are so generic and utterly boring. Much better than James Blunt mind (shame, he actually came across as a really cool guy on Top Gear).

I'm partial to a bit of Scouting for Girls, but can't help get the feeling their songs are just made to be annoying in the first place. I like that term "flat-pack indie".

I hate that song "you change your mind like a girl changes clothes" - argh, I'd rather eat my own ears. The girl is pretty hot though.

Another annoying song came on the tv yesterday, my sister informed me it was Kanye West. Well well what a surprise, always realeasing consistent crap. Yet everyone will think he is the bees knees.

The latest Pink song is probably the worst song out of all those I've mentioned above. Sometimes it gets stuck in my head and I just wish I had a gun!

  3. FFS my sister got 3 for me, her and my Dad, yet we had to apply for a membership for the fan club at 26....EACH! Talk about rip off merchants! Yet 2 seperate mates of mine bought 4 tickets each and never had to pay for a fan club membership. Absolutely shocking. Gonna write a huge complaint letter to ticketmaster and hopefully others will too

  4. It's now been over 6 years since I've had my AVT-100 and the pre-amp valve is still going strong. To be honest I hardly have played guitar nearly half as much I did in the last 4 years due to Uni and becoming lazy, but before I played every night. Marshall say the life of the valve is around 4 years of everyday playing so I reckon soon enough the valve will go (I'm playing a lot more again). I'm wondering if you can buy an "uprated" ECC83 preamp valve that would be compatible. Also would it be easy enough to change myself or is it best putting it into Bruce Millers/RNB when the time comes?

    Any replies appreciated

  5. Hey guys, my Les Paul Gothic has had a problem with the volume controls for a couple of years now. Now and again when turned to full, the volume will sometimes drastically reduce and sound like the tone control has also been turned right down. Hitting the strings violently can make it burst back into life, as does moving the volume control up and down slightly. Is this a problem with the circuits for the volume controls itself or could it be the pick-ups?
