  1. Ok, here is how the final 12 were decided last year, and possibly the same method was used the year before too. According to a judge we spoke to last year, each band is graded out of 10, for different criteria. I can't quite remember all of them, but these will be most of them.

    Overall Musical Ability

Strength of Melody (vocal and instrumental)

On stage Performance (tightness + playing to the crowd etc)

Originality (how this can be marked i've no idea)

#There were more but they escape me just now.

Then what happens is that each judge (usually there are 3 at each heat) give their scores to Sarah Holland or one of the T-Break Organisers, who add up each bands totals from the judges, and the top 12 out the 58 or so bands that played T-Break get in to T in The Park.

Take from that what you will, as no doubt you will hear the annual stories from people saying "The bands to play T in the Park have already been decided, before any of the heats have taken place". Even if they have, who cares. You get to play a gig in Edinburgh or Glasgow, in a venue you never usually get the chance to play in, to people in the industry who would never normally see you, to a potential fanbase who will have never heard you, with bands who you would never have met before.

Its a good experience, no matter what the end result, enjoy yourselves and have an almighty piss-up after

  2. Where did you get it for that price...???

I think it is a great record.

It sounds like some of those songs could be on the OC or on Dawsons Creek or some shit like that' date=' but the songs are so bouncy and happy. Although as you say, it is nothing new from Jonah, he is stil the best at doing that whole take on the emo/post hardcore genre...

He is miles above Jimmy Eat Worl etc....

  3. Anyone else purchased this album?? Stephen alerted me to this, i didn't even realise Jonah was working on a new project.

Well.... after a few listens... its not too bad. Its got some really lush choruses that piss on all these new emo and post hardcore bands (can of worms opened), and some really good lyrics, first song especially. However, i think i was looking for something a lot more challenging from Jonah, now he's pushing on a bit. Something a bit more like his New End Original album "Thriller", there were so many different moods and techniques showcased in that album, and the song "Hostage" is still up there with my favourite songs ever written. Even in his last album under the One Line Drawing moniker, was slightly more challenging, with the use of explosions in the sky esque guitar work, and excellent rhythm changes.

But all in all, its an ok album, if you like Jimmy Eat World, i think you'll cream yourself over this. You also get 3 videos on the cd, so for 9.99 i can't complain too much.

Now if only Jonah would do a headline tour sometime, instead of continually touring with Funeral For a Friend!!!

Now look what you've done guys...

I'm taking you to people's court Adam. you can expect a bill for 847.26p of lost future earnings....

We had a really good time at this gig, it was always going to be a struggle competing against the champions league semi's, and that awkward time in uni schedules, but for those who were there we thank you so much, and hope you enjoyed yourselves immensly.

We played quite a lot of new material, that has been re-re-re- and re-written over the past month, and we all left the gig feeling quite positive about how it went down.

    Many thanks again

    all at SEA x

Also P.S Adam, didn't have time to find out about Clutch tickets today, but i have the whole day to check tomoro, so expect a PM

  7. kinda wish i was more sober for 65days of static, as they didn't really blow me away. Drunkeness could have masked their brilliance though.

i still think the bass player was rubbish. but thats only my opinion, and that counts for fuck all.

Copy Haho were ace, one of the best performances i've seen from them

Fickle were amazing as always, but it was probably the least tight version of "Courtney Cox....." that i'd heard from them. but thats the only negative point i could draw from their performance.

  8. I'm off on Saturday' date=' so could do.

Directions to Seaton Park from King Street would be a help.....[/quote']

If you are on King Street, walk in the opposite direction from town, and it is the big park behind Lidl's. Can't miss it. We'll probably be playing next to the car park bit.

Roll on sat, i might start jogging this week so i can last that little bit longer. then again.....
