chinagirl
Can someone please give me some advice as to how to get involved in djing in Aberdeen. Without naming names I find myself increasingly frustrated at the narrow mindedness of some local promoters but also fully understand the need to make and fill seats/stools. I would like to say that I have quite a wide range of musical tastes and would like to have the opportunity to play something genuinely different/experimental to a wider audience. For reference sake, I'm into stuff like Sun City Girls, Ze/y/99 labels, Krautrock, On U sound/dub, Pyschic TV/T.G./Coil, Current 93, Einsturzende, Laibach, Can, Cave, Northern soul you get the idea. Generally bored of 'barhouse' but like some stuff like Perlon, Trapez, Kompakt etc. I realise this is not what most would call 'dancefloor material' so was thinking more of a Sunday night, chill-out vibe. I cannot afford a cd mixer and so am unable to showcase my ability but can compile a cd of an unmixed 'set' for anyone interested. Apologies for the blatant self-promotion but I believe I could offer something genuinely worthwhile or at least inspire others to do something similar. New Disorder
Sounds like you need to talk to 'nullmouse'.
Mike iD
you might want to consider involvement in mefm, it apparently will be back on air in may, one good thing about radio is that you can play a super eclectic mix without worrying about 'holding the dancefloor' or such considerations
