Guest onlynik
Is it possible?
che
yeh I would imagine so. it's also a great idea.if I'm not mistaken there are RSS extensons for firefox...the two together could make a great Aberdeen-Music firefox plugin.. Edit: Sage RSS plugin...Neil, you have to do an RSS feed of latest threads now
Guest onlynik
I was thinking along the lines of having live bookmarks in firefox to see which threads had been updated, etc.

Neil
Okay, I'm not too sure what you guys are exactly looking for but vBulletin v3 already has an RSS feed facility. This can be accessed using the URL:http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/external.phpBy default, it will just list the latest threads posted in all the forums. However, you can change the URL so that it only lists the latest threads from specific forum(s). To do this simply add the forum ID to the end of the URL (you can get the ID of each forum from looking at the forum's URL). e.g. If I wanted to simply get an RSS feed of the latest Wasteland and All Music Discussion threads only then my URL would be:http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/external.php?forumids=20,38And for us Firefox people I have now added a link to the default RSS feed to the source code of the site so that you should now be able to see the RSS button in the bottom left of Firefox while visiting the web site (in Firefox PR1.0 anyway). This will allow you to create a dynamic bookmark to the web site in Firefox. That good enough for you?

che
perfect, thanks Neil(and I should have known that)
che
Neil, the default external.php only sends out the latest created threads. Which means that when an old thread is posted on, it doesn't make the list in the RSS feed. There is a mod for this, which is as simple as replacing the external.php file with a new one.http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69834&highlight=rss%2AWe'd both appreciate if you installed this

che
If anyone uses an RSS app (Sage in firefox is good) they should use the following URLhttp://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/external.php?type=rss2&qty=20&items=active&bbcode=yes and they'll be presented with the last 20 active topics. (If you use sage, this is like having an Aberdeen-Music threads sidebar)
