Dizzy Storm
Sonny and Cher, Danny and Sandy, Kylie and Jason; they're just some of the more memorable duos of our time... well here's another to add to the list; Carol and David. Better known as CARTWHEEL, a beatsy-indie-electro-skewed pop band that hails all the way from sunny Melbourne, Australia (what a coincidence, just like Kylie and Jason...but don't let that put you off). They have been together since 1998, playing various gigs around Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide performing alongside noteworthy bands such as Ninetynine, The Lucksmiths and Architecture in Helsinki. They have previously released independant CD's, though more recently had a lovely mint-green seven inch released on Saint James Records which received vast amounts of radio play in Australia. It featured four tracks which illustrate their dynamic sound and instrumentation; they like to mix analogue keyboards and digital sequencers with guitars, and switch instruments on stage just to confuse everyone. They have recently moved to the other side of the world, known to most as Manchester where they will play some UK shows and embark on a European tour in August/September which will include the following countries; Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Belguim, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Malta, Spain and Portugal.
