Fudge Aberdeen and the Moorings Bar present

Friday 22nd February 2013 - ‘Shiprocked' with DJ Beard Fury and two live bands:

“We have horns to blast your face, bass to rumble your feet, drums to bang your head, guitar to jangle your cockles and vocals that make you wanna shout at us.”

Tyrannosaurus Alan is a music band from the Medway towns. They've spent the last 4 years extensively touring the UK, supporting the likes of Voodoo Glow Skulls, Capdown, Bad Manners, The Beat, Chipmunk, Random Hand and hundreds more. They've self releasied an EP, an album and a single, recieving international airplay including a spin on BBC Radio 1.

"These guys are no dinosaurs, their mixture of ska with its syncopated jangling guitar, strident brass, great bass lines blended with dirtier punk fuelled guitar and rap style vocals make for a very pleasurable listening experience. They play with great energy and have fun doing it! Brilliant!"

- studsandpunks.com

"Tyrannosaurus Alan are an eclectic 7 piece from South London, bringing together a beautiful array of ska, punk, reggae and hip hop to create a sound somewhere between classic Capdown, Dizzee Rascal and Sonic Boom Six. It's all done with a shit load of energy and passion and fantastic musicianship, with big brass and vocal hooks."

- skamutiny.com

"Starting off like a ska version of Mancini’s Pink Panther theme, it evolves into a slab of guitar hop – all Sham 69 on Jamie T’s beat whilst Capdown look on."

- Gill Mills (NME/ Best Of Myspace) On 'Bombard The BBC.'

Part ska, part punk, part hip-hop, the band take all the best bits of Reel Big Fish, Dizzee Rascal, Madness, Rage Against The Machine, The Ordinary Boys, The Clash, The Streets, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Gorillaz and The Specials, cannibalising the resulting sound into a Frankenstein's monster of rock... Catch them live. Please, please catch them live. If they're half as good as they sound recorded, you'll be in for a right old riot."

- BBC Introducing/ Stephen Morris

Girl-fronted Skate-Ska/Punk 4-Piece from the South West of the UK. Between the members they'd notched up over 3000 gigs with various bands before forming back in July 2011. Playing their energetic take on Skate Punk, Ska, Reggae and Rap, UA have been attacking the scene from the get go, having gone from a mere conversation on the beach to writing a 16-song album, UK shows and a European tour in three months flat. They've been taking their live show to both sides of the Atlantic, and are already writing their second album and lining up tours further afield.

First act onstage 9pm. Strictly 18+. Free entry before 8.45pm, £3 thereafter until close.

DJ Beard Fury will provide epic tunage with his night 'Shiprocked' right up to 3am. By which time we'll all be drunk, with luck. Expect rock meets stoner meets pop meets punk meets bluegrass meets who-the-hell-knows. It could end virtually anywhere, musically speaking, and probably will. No requests after 1am!
