colour_organ
Snafu are launching a new live music series, commencing in October 2012 celebrating the best live electronic performance from around the world.Kicking off our series on October 20th we are delighted to welcome none other than Detroit champions OCTAVE ONE who head to Aberdeen for the very first time. Brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden have cemented themselves in techno folklore with countless albums and EPs and of course the hugely successful BLACKWATER ft. Ann Saunderson. OCTAVE ONE(430 West Records/Detroit) Oct 20th Since beginnings on Derrick May's Transmat record label with the single "I Believe" the Burden brothers have released over one hundred records, many on their own record label 430 West Records including Blackwater. Their hugely energetic and acclaimed hardware sets have raised the bar consistently, keeping them at the forefront of electronic music for two decades. Considered as part of the second wave of Detroit artists, Octave One have worked notably alongside Derrick May, Underground Resistance, Juan Atkins, Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Members of the House and Terrence Parker. They have remixed tracks by Massive Attack, Joey Negro, Rolando (Jaguar), Steve Bug, The Tramps, Rhythm is Rhythm and Inner City, showing just how in demand their skills are. Using a combination of synthesizers, drum machines, audio mixers and effects for the last twenty years Octave One have been touring the world and releasing music as groundbreaking as the day they started. We are in for something sublime - one of those "were you there...?" type of gigs that sure don't come around very often. Mark it down._________________Part 2 : TIGER & WOODS - 16 NovPart 3 : SLAM - Feb 2013_________________TICKETS // clubsnafu.com/box-office, residentadvisor.net, facebook.com/clubsnafu.aberdeen and soon from One Up (Belmont St) & The Athenaeum (5 Union St, above Snafu). _________________clubsnafu.comclubsnafu.tumblr.comtwitter.com/snafu_aberdeen1 Union St, AberdeenWorld's Top 100 Clubs 2012
