The Ghost Of Fudge
SNAKE TEMPLE KINGSThe Snake Temple Kings on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads"It's about time Aberdeen had a space rock band". Formed in late 2006, The Snake Temple Kings came bounding in to enthusiastically fill the gapping void in Aberdeen's prog rock market with some saxy, bluesy, blustering jazz-rock vibes. They're influenced by Hawkwind, Gong, King Crimson, Magma, Ozric Tentacles, Steve Hillage, Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Caravan, Van Der Graff Generator, Faust, Can, Brian Eno, and Jah Wobble. It even gets a bit Mr Bungle at times.AUTOSAFARIAUTOSAFARI on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Edinburgh/Glasgow based trio Autosafari sound like early REM to our ears, but there's a fair smattering of college-rock, indie and pop at work in their epic sounding toe-tappers. "Autosafari is angry. About a lot of things. In fact just about the only thing that doesnt make Autosafari angry is mixing crunching guitar and pounding bass with blistering drums to create explosive, driving songs that let the world know how pissed off Autosafari is about the state of things. This, conversely, makes Autosafari happy."LIAR'S DICELiars Dice on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads A five piece assortment of crack-pot musicians dedicated to a life of ethanol fueled, classic rock guided adventures, "ready to perform an original set of rocking tunes by means of guitar, vocals, bass and drums", and brought together by a love of The Black Crowes, AC/DC, Led Zep, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynard and all that jazz. Err, well not jazz. But you know what I mean.THE OXBOW LAKE ORCHESTRAthe oxbow lake orchestra on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads With their first EP "Neanderthal Blues" to promote, here come oddball genre-defying jazz/folk merchants The Oxbow Lake Orchestra. They came together in the winter of 2007/2008, and hail from the beautiful wee village of Collieston, which has, they're sure, informed the music and how they play. The live shows are upbeat good time events and they "play a lot of (far too many) traditional and acoustic instruments - but don't assume anything from that!" Flash@TMB
That was thoroughly enjoyable. All the bands were fantastic. Autosafari were a revelation (and really nice guys too), and that was easily the best that I have seen Snake Temple Kings play, if only all prog sounded as good as this...
