That's how I see it - hence, I'm going to support the Conservatives down here simply because a UK Conservative goverment will have to inevitably deal with an SNP/Labour parliament in Scotland.

I do wonder if Labour, facing a beating in 2010 will attempt to devolve more powers to the Scottish Parliament to secure the Scottish vote?

Nonsense. This Labour government has been the most radical and successful centre-left government ever in this country. Even a cursory look at the records and achievements of the current administration to the previous one shows that they're nothing like the Tories.

As for Johnson, the Tories keep him around because he's a well-known character who gives a human face to a party that is still viewed with suspicion by the majority of the electorate. He's the true voice of the Tory conscience. To cut him free would rob the party of one of their most valuable electoral assets.

A certain quantity of that is true especially about the Labour government.

Regarding Boris though, people should find out what he said not what tabloid papers report him to supposedly have said.

Boris is a legend, but his beliefs are insanely ridiculous.......like a bearable friend that you have even though everything they say you disagree with immensely. The boy brings a laugh into the stale old topic of politics and the like.
