Mothership
It just goes to show how much a name is worth. A huge crowd turned out for a disapointing (& dare I say insulting ripoff) three piece Hawkwind gig at the forum. Yet the Lemon Tree was almost empty for an excellent Space Ritual (not a Hawkwind "tribute band") lineup, complete with audience assaulting strobes and a dancer. cf Roger Waters/Pink Floyd for similar talent/renumeration split. And we some got some ICU & a solo sax Pink Pather encore.
palmer_eldritch
I was also at the gig and thought it was excellent. I'd definately go again to see them. Nik Turner's playing is amazing these days From what i've seen of hawkwind dvds, space ritual are far more worthy of carrying the title of "Hawkwind".I also agree with you on the Roger Waters front
Mothership
Nik Turner's playing is amazing these days Watch out for his jazz band, Galaktikos who are also good.
