Andy Mulhern
Klub Revolution and Vocoustics Presents:Tickets on Sale in 1-Up and FOPP now!Jackson Cassidy are a new and vibrant song writing duo comprising Scottish passion and Irish sensitivity in the form of ex-Speedway front woman Jill Jackson and Gianna Cassidy. This intimate acoustic show at The Tunnels will be thier debut headline show in Scotland! Both Jill and Gianna are accomplished musicians. Prior to Jackson Cassidy, Jill fronted pop rockers Speedway where she received much acclaim and recognition as well as having two top ten hits. Gianna was a founding member of South Beach after she moved to Glasgow to study music and perform on the singer/songwriter circuit.Jackson Cassidy's individually rich and soulful, if not sometimes, vulnerable voices are perfectly complimented through their resonating harmonies and hypnotic tones creating a sound that is abundant in texture and is often likened to a female Simon and Garfunkel.Says Gianna:"Our love of old style tight harmonies is a main component of our sound. It happens without thinking. It is a natural Jackson Cassidy progression from the moment that we generate the idea, not an after thought. We are melodically driven and our sound is tinged by a mixture of Rock, Folk, Country and Soul influences."Says Jill:"When the whole Speedway thing came to an end I decided to go back to my roots and play the kind of music that I love- Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Shelby Lynne, the Stones and Joni Mitchell. I just wanted to strip the whole sound back and perform some new music. I recorded an acoustic album and after about a year of writing I toured the album supporting Kevin Montgomery (Nashville Singer/Songwriter). A lot of the gigs I performed alone, it was just me and my guitar, It was a great experience.I asked Gianna to join me for some of the tour as I knew she was no longer with her band 'South beach' and I just knew that our voices would really compliment each other's, it was there that we started developing our sound."Local support from Lorenzo Snow Colletive and Ellie Mulhern.http://www.myspace.com/jacksonandcassidyhttp://www.myspace.com/lorenzosnowcollectivehttp://www.myspace.com/elliemulhern
