dragon_force Posted December 14, 2005 Report Share Posted December 14, 2005 I need a pickup upgrade on my fav gtar... a 80's westone thunder. Ok, buy pickups, fit em.... easy...But the guitar has a built in pre-amp which makes the existing wiring a bit hard to follow. It also has a in/out phase switch + coil split switch's..... which I want to keep. So I need to buy coil split-able humbuckers.. but I'm just not confident in getting rid of the pre-amp and wiring up the switch's, with it all earthed etc............... Anybody done anything similar and wants to earn beer money? All parts provided.-TPS Long story for the upgrade.... I know active guitars 'should' be great.. this ones not (for metal anyway).....
