Here's the way I see it: For amp sims: multiple amps in a box. Against amp sims. It's a sim (no pet shop boys jokes there please), most of the sims I've heard wouldn't fool a deaf hamster. It's not any cheaper, you'll still need an amp and a cab. There are lots of perfectly good guitar amp manufacturers with decades of experience. How many people, in all honesty, could tell the difference between different amp sounds. Being digital, sims will have the hiss inherent in all digital systems.
