The Smiddy Bar @ Daviot

The Froot Loops are an Accousting Duo comprising of a Vocalist/ Guitarist and a percussionist. A video and dates can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/smiddybarmusic/ The Lead singer/guitarist Andy Robbins can normally be heard playing with a modified Tanglewood Earth 1000 and his trusty Yamaha APX 12 string. On percussion is George Drew who varies his sounds between and Cajon and a Djembe. Music range is very eclectic fron 60 and 70 to Country and Western and even some modern stuff too.

The AS50R is a 50 Watt combo housing 2x 8" custom-voiced speakers and a highly efficient piezo tweeter which allows for clear and detailed sound reproduction across the entire frequency range. This compact and highly portable combo features two channels, each of which has its own independent volume and tone controls. A variety of inputs give the AS50R the ability to handle all comers: the high impedance input on Channel 1 is perfect for piezo or magnetic pickups, while Channel 2 boasts RCA phono inputs, plus a balanced XLR type input in addition to its jack input, making it the perfect host for voice, instrument, or even backing track applications. The AS50R also has a built-in, adjustable Chorus which is assignable to either or both channels, plus Reverb and a Parallel effects loop that can be balanced between the two channels. One of the most difficult aspects of amplifying certain acoustic instruments is feedback. Therefore, anti-feedback controls include a Phase switch and a frequency controllable 'Notch'. Another useful AS50R feature is an internal Limiter which allows you to drive the maximum level from the 50 Watt power stage, yet remain distortion free. Neat and affordable, flexible and portable, the AS50R is the ideal amplifier for the acoustic musician who wants an amp which is perfectly suited for intimate gigs. This amp has had little usage and has only been gigged in small places where a large amp is not needed. It is in great condition and although I live in Fyvie, I work in Aberdeen so I can drop off. Next Jam is this Sunday guys starting at 3pm and ending when the fingers hurt too much to go on (normally between 6 and 7) although I have seen it go past 8pm because everyone was enjoying themselves so much they didn't want to stop.

It should say the last Sunday of the month above folks, also the instuments used are normally Acoustic or Semi/ Electro Accoustic. It works fairly well and a good time is had by all.

Of course it's only ever been used at home as I've a Peavey XR system for gigs in the bar.

A night with Dave Scott and friends. Dave is a quiet but unassuming lad with a wealth of talent. You will be truly entertained by relaxed easy listening accoustic songs. Dave is normally joined by other local musicians who sing a choice selection of songs. Audience participation is optional but encouraged. Make the most of this great venue folks. The Jam held on the lst Sunday of every month is fast becoming a regular hangout for local musicians. There are amps available to plug into and a PA for the vocals so com along and give it go. Even if you dont play or sing you will be made welcome in this family run venue.
