  1. It doesn't need a crate for training, you have just chosen to get one. I just recently got a puppy which was expensive (£500 for a Cavalier King Charles), but myself and my wife are putting in the time and effort to train her without locking her into a cage for the night/when we go out.

We have a enclosed bed for her that we put her in when she's sleeping, and know when she needs the toilet by her behavior. Ok we can't stop her doing the toilet at night, but by using an old rug/puppy pads we can persuade her to do the toilet in a certain place, plus we are looking at getting a dog flap to allow her to go out whenever she wants.[/quote

We wanted a crate purely because we looked after my partner's mum's puppy, and it was crate trained. Absolute dream to have. He got in to a routine of food, play, walk, toilet nap. Plus puppies like to be enclosed (as you have done with your enclosed bed).

I suppose it comes down to owner's preference, and the peeing is inevitable. They have little control over that at first.

To be honest, the crate is more for safety than anything else. She will be sleeping in the kitchen and it means she won't be able to hurt herself on anything during the night, and it's sort of a den for her.

  2. It also needs a crate for training.

And because we specifically wanted a Dalmatian, and they are pretty hard to find, well a Dalmatian that is well bred that is.

Due to a bout of recent in-breeding of this breed, a lot of local breeders up here have badly bred dogs. Resulting in awful behavioural and tempramental issues and often severe health problems in these dogs.

In otherwords - they can turn vicious or go deaf / get kidney stones.

The only way to get one that was "trainable" and well bred (thus less likely to contract any severe ailments) was to go down south to get one from a champ breeder.

    Not cheap.

But it means we get the dog we want, from a reliable source, and means that we are preventing bad breeders from getting any business.

  3. Worriers.

People who spend all their time worrying about something that probably doesn't matter that much.

I used to be guilty of this.

    Now I sit back.

If life wants to kick you in the crotch, it will do so , regardless of whether you're worried about it or not.

  4. I thought Bane sounded like Brian Bedonte. In a studio. The overdubbing was God Awful. There were also parts that didn't make sense... like how Bruce knocks a disc out of his back, 5 minutes later you see his back - not even a scar. A film that had a budget like that should have ensured no silly errors occurred. Good, but not quite The Dark knight. The Joker is probably the greatest villain ever depicted in film.

  5. I ordered a TU2 ages ago off Amazon and it's never come.

I've chased and chased them for a refund but to no avail.

However I go on tour next month and now urgently require one.

Need something that's reliable, actually picks up lower tunings (something cheaper ones don't do very well).

Appearance is irrellevant, I couldn't care less if it's caked in scracthes.

As long as it works and doesn't break on me

    Help?

    Cheers :)

  6. See that's what I'm pretty much after. I'm not going to bother tapping it, gonna rip out the neck pickup and the tone controls and , make the pickup selector a kill switch. It's a black beat up Les Paul studio (the older one with the gold hardwear and without the tone holes) - It'll look and sound bad ass. Using guage 13's (cos it's in drop C) so it'll be even more beefed up with them. I've always been really lazy and paid through the nose to get pickups fitted in the past, but this time I'm doing it myself.

  7. Yeah it's hardcore, wanted something really chunky and powerful. My setup is pretty simple. Just a JCM and the Les Paul. Which is already a fairly heavy sounding guitar. I love Gibson pickups but it just doesn't have that grunt I want. I've heard good things about those Dimarzio D-activators, but still unsure. I guess the best thing to do is shop around and try out some guitars fitted with them.

  8. Cellar 35 is the best venue in Aberdeen hands down. Especially when busy. Good acoustics in there too. And a reasonably priced bar. Which frankly - is a plus. As Tunnels take the absolute piss with their overpriced manky pints that taste more like pipe cleaner than beer, and served in plastic cups. Gads.

Only problem with Celler is humphing all your gear down those bastard stairs. Nightmare.
