    Well, disco dance in skinny pants to the sounds of 50's, 60's, Rockabilly..., Elvis Presley, Peggy Sue, Buddy Holly, Blue Suede shoes. Motown, soul funk and boogie. THE SUPREMES.

    + THE KING HATS -

    Since forming in 2007 they've had the pleasure of playing with Twisted Wheel, The Rascals, Bromheads Jacket, Ida Maria, Iglu & Hartly and Jamie T.

    King Hats also played at T in the Park 2008 on the T Break Stage.

    "We spend our days writing tunes and spend our evenings getting lost in them.

    We are four young men from the land that popular music culture forgot, and yet it’s what has brought us together.

    It has been said before, we do enjoy a right royal rave up, and that’s what comes across in our songs.

    What else is there is to say? We love hard, aggressive music with sweeping romantic melodies, and we love playing it.

    We've got Nigel Hayes playing a smooth blend of latin, jazz, afrobeat and funk this Sunday evening at The Athenaeum. Come down and mooch around.

    During the afternoon try out our Sunday Roast carved at your table, or stick to the hearty main menu, whatever takes your fancy. We've got cocktails, newspapers and board games to keep you entertained until Nigel takes over.

    Nigel Hayes has an impressive back catalogue of work including releases on Intelligent audio, Sunshine Enterprises and Contrast Music (US). Intelligent Audio was set up in 2009, split into two sides, one releases deep and tech house music, the other releases a wide range of eclectic material; nu jazz, broken beat, afrobeat, chill out music, downtempo, funk, drum and bass, funky hiphop, like a big bag of all sorts.

    Grab a spot on the sofa or in one of our booths and let Sunday drift away. May I recommend a Tequila Bloody Mary? Yes I may.

    Come and enjoy a belly full of laughs and a belly full of food.

    When booking a table quote 'Food and Funny' and when you buy 2 main courses you can enjoy the cheapest one for free, if that wasn't good enough we will throw in a free ticket to the comedy club downstairs also on Tuesday night.
