    MELE

Tipped as one of Timeout Magazine’s ‘DJ Stars Of 2012’, the hype surrounding Liverpool’s own Melé keeps on growing. At just 19, he is already recognised as a promising producer with a series of releases that have got both artists and critics hungry for more.

Check out 'What's the 411', 'Starlight Express' and 'Steel Ride' that he produced with Sinden.

With a unique sound, Melé is capable of delivering on every level - from club music to deeper productions interspersed with, hip-hop snares, grimey synths at techno tempo it’s Melé’s rhythmic inventiveness, and virtuoso touches that really set him apart.

Setting a relentless pace with his own productions, he’s already released EPs on Sound Of Sumo, Mixpak and Grizzly labels, As for remixes, he’s been working with the best, having been asked to rework tracks by the likes of Surkin and heavyweight producers Crookers.

Artists and DJs like Toddla T, Rustie, Brodinski and Hudson Mowhawke are already big fans of his work. To say the future looks bright would be an understatement, the sun be shining all day for Mele right now. To quote his mentor, Sinden, ‘Melé has the world at his feet’.

We have resident Squelchy and close family friend Ch£ap Date on warm up duties.

With huge Radio 1 support for tracks, Feeling Grows, Weapon and Death of Rock ‘N’ Roll, the latter of which was played several times thanks to an eye catching video that has become a bit of a minor hit on Youtube, Fridge Magnets are marching toward big things.

Recently playlisted by Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac, the band are now on a new level.

The last few months have been particularly busy with picking up ‘Best Electronic Act’ at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards beating off strong competition from the likes of Rustie (nmbrs), playing the Big Beach Ball main stage and toured London's most famous venues.

Described by many as “a mash up of Calvin Harris and Deadmau5 with elements of Example and Faithless”. Front man Steve Winton never fails to get the crowd going and his professional and consistent front man performances backed up by the musical talents of Ciaran Pasi (bass), Laurie Sanderson (lead guitar), Chris Philip (drums) and Campbell Nelson (synthesizer/programming) never disappoint.

    HYPED.

    Official bio says it best...

Claude VonStroke does not scowl and look mean while he DJs. He does not pretend to know everything and he will be nice to you and your friends. He is grateful to be doing music for a living and he knows that the reason people go to parties is to shake their ass and have fun. If you want to act cool and not have any fun then please do not book him.

VonStroke created dirtybird records in 2005 and has been running everything from A&R to daily operations ever since. The name "Claude VonStroke" was a joke that caught on after he released a series of quirky tracks under the moniker in order to help kick start the dirtybird label. His very first record, “Deep Throat,” used a strange vocal sound effect as percussion to make a sleeper hit selling tens of thousands of copies. The follow-up track, "Who's Afraid of Detroit?" was the catalyst that changed his career from bedroom producer to touring DJ. He has been blessed with similar success stories ever since.

Claude's real name is Barclay, a guy raised in the suburbs of Detroit who wanted to be a filmmaker but always had a knack for music. After several different film careers of varying success he moved to San Francisco and started dirtybird records. Since 2005, dirtybird has carved out a niche as a premiere American dance imprint and has released over 70 EPs. The label is mostly known for dirty house music with distinct hip-hop, funk and drum 'n bass influences.

VonStroke has released two artist albums as well as a Fabric mix and countless remixes for a wide range of commercial and underground artists from Indy rock group “The Rapture” to Detroit techno legend Kevin Saunderson. In an effort to give something back to the community VonStroke unveiled a new sub-label “mothership” in 2007. A large percentage of the label’s proceeds go to a music school for children in Detroit, Michigan.

Tour wise, Claude has headlined almost every major club, festival and basement after-party in the world. The outdoor dirtybird parties in San Francisco’s scenic Golden Gate Park have also become a legendary summer destination point for both locals and international travelers.

But like we said at the start, Claude VonStroke is only coming to see you if you want to enjoy yourself and get sweaty and nasty. If you want to wear a sweater and frown in the VIP section, he is not the right DJ for you.

KITTENZ AND THEE GLITZ was an album which turned dance music upside down. DEVIN DAZZLE AND THE NEON FEVER and countless charted remixes from our favourite Aphrohead then cemented his tail in folklore.

Still as legendary as ever, Chicago's one and only FELIX DA HOUSECAT has promised to delight Snafu on latest stay in Britain. He is here for a month, so has no where to hide.

Over the course of 20 years Felix's determination and willingness to re-invent himself have led to a point that has now included a Grammy nomination, remix work for artists such as Madonna, Garbage, New Order and Giorgio Moroder; to DJ gigs at the world’s most prestigious music festivals.

As one of the most influential producers in dance music, Felix da Housecat helped spread acid house in the late 80s and 90s and kickstarted electroclash with his seminal 2001 album ‘Kittenz And Thee Glitz’, as well as huge remixes of SINNERMAN, POP THA GLOCK and TOXIC.

Time to teach this pussy a lesson.

Mixed Bizness returns to Snafu for another irregular party that makes you party regularly. Mia Dora are hotly tipped production duo who, alongside cohorts HaHaHa & Mia Dora, have just released the fantastic High Sheen track for just as hotly tipped Glasgow label High Sheen.

Mia Dora have set about developing a truly original house sound, drawing on hip hop and garage, brimming with energy and emotion and sounding like nobody else. Word has soon spread and before long UK hip hop powerhouse Big Dada came looking for a remix for ‘Get The Get’, the lead single from Roots Manuva’s album 4EVEREVOLUTION. Achieved with devestating results, their remix has been held up as one of the tracks of 2011 and has made massive fans of radio DJs like Mary Anne Hobbs, Giles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and Mash, with constant plays on BBC Radio 1, XFM and Capitol Radio. DJs in the know like Sinden, Ben UFO, Disclosure, Eats Everything and Drums of Death have show love as well so you know they're not messing about. Support has continued to flood in with DJ Magazine declaring Mia Dora as one of the main artists to keep tabs on in 2012 with a full page spread covering their plans for the year ahead.

2012 will see their debut ‘Romanticise’ EP released on Glasgow’s fresh faced High Sheen label, a 4 track slice of club jamming house, garage and aqua beats that will see Mia Dora receive in return the love they give to us. There’s so much more to come from Mia Dora and it seems everyone is waiting to hear it first.'
