Ropes - Indian Red Lopez
Sometimes the wrong thing
Feels like the right thing
Its a chance that you're willing to take
Sometimes the best thing
feels like the worst thing
cause it blew up in your face
Sometimes your helpless
nobody throws you
the rope you need
Sometimes your helpless
nobody throws you
the rope you need
sometimes the best thing
ends up the worst thing
sometimes the next thing
could be the best thing
there's a chance that its coming your way
theres a chance now coming your way
Sometimes your helpless
nobody throws you
the rope you need
Sometimes your helpless
nobody throws you
the rope you need
Then out of nowhere
the voice of the father
reminds you
Then out of nowhere
they throw you a lifeline, a lifeline
Sometimes your helpless
nobody throws you
the rope you need
Sometimes your helpless
nobody throws you
the rope you need

I really hope Fifa stick to their word. Football authorities seem to be a bit of a soft touch when it comes to appeals, and its rare a harsh punishment in football has stuck. Some clubs are terrible for tapping up players young players from small clubs, so it will stamp a bit of authority on that part of the game. Ruling them out of next summers dealings would make things quite interesting, especially if they were to lose an integral player.
On the flipside though they will have additional wads of cash to throw at the current squad, meaning that naebdy's leaving.
Mind you, maybe the agents will clock this and start demanding ridiculous wages for the players, which Chelsea could refuse to pay and the players bugger off anyway.
However, we all know they will appeal, and this will end up in a ridiculous 10,000 fine, suspended sentence for 2 years and nothing more said about it.
Football saddens me sometimes

Sam...its absolutely not up to the festival if the band brings an engineer or not...its the bands decision and the crew at the festival should deal with it...you should have gone anyway!
I think the issue would be more to do with allowing the crew passes to get into the festival/backstage/crew areas. If Sam had turned up, he wouldnt have been allowed in I'd guess...
We were lucky in the fact that our regular sound engineer was handily employed as the engineer for the stage we played on for the whole weekend!

5pm deadline sucks - midnight is far more exciting!
Saints linked with Stevie Hammell and Steven McGarry from Motherwell, doesnt look like either will happen now though, would love to see wee Steven back at his rightful home though, sat a few seats along from him at the Semi-final last season at Hampden, die-hard Saint. Hammell I'd take in a minute, if only to keep Bombscare Camara out of the team.
Two of Hamiltons summer signings have walked out on the club - Iriepken after 5 weeks having just been made club captain and Rubiales after 2 weeks! Plus they sold Offiong for 70k, released Elebert and possibly punting a few others today. Nailed on for the drop I'd say.

Then plumped for a cheeky lucky 15: Fulham 0-2 Chelsea, Rotherham 2-1 Rochdale, Burnley 1-2 Everton, Cardiff 2-1 Bristol City, 10p bets making a total stake of 1.50. Got the first two bang on which returned 7 odd, had all 4 been correct I'd have taken home 538! Reckon if everton had scored the pen they'd have went on to win that as well...
Went for another '2-1' sunday lucky 15 this weekend, With Villa, Everton, City and Hearts as the winners (all@13/2).
Everton came up, St Johnstone scored a last minute equaliser to do me out of another cheeky double, thought Fulham might have sneaked a goal v Villa, City were largely disappointing!
75p loss in total on the bet, takes me down to 138.75 in the pot.

They can't risk losing money on a lot of weaker games in respect to ticket sales and TV money so that won't happen.
Yeah thats pretty much a given...
but still it would be far more interesting....

Just wanted to add - I dont think there should be seedings for anything. Its boring as fuck having all the big teams split up early on, handing out 4-0 gubbings to weaker teams. Imagine if all the teams were in one pot and Barca, Real, Inter and AC came out in one group and Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in another? it would be EPIC!
Also - the next round of the league cup in Scotland is seeded. what a fucking joke. theres only 16 teams left, 11 of which are SPL, which means the top 8 from last season SPL are seeded and will draw either Saints, Fake Saints, Falkirk or any of the Div 1 teams left. Whats the point? Why cant they leave it to chance? Its be great if a couple of Div 1s drew each other and guarantee some SFL interest in the last 8. Wouldnt surprise me if the Seeded teams were guaranteed a home draw next as well!

Yep, except nothing for 3rd place finishes. Not keen at all on this setup Results such as Aberdeen or Lech Poznan getting through to the last 32 just aren't going to happen - which means we'll see the same old teams in the last 32 year in year out, exactly what's wrong with the Champions League. Fair enough, it's better than the nonsense system of the last few years, but it's still designed to ensure that crappy teams don't manage to get very far - which seems completely counterproductive given Platini's vision of getting more countries represented.
I'd have loved to have seen a return of the original Champions League format of having two leagues in the semi final stage with only winners progressing - maybe 2008/2009 wouldn't be such a great example, but taking the year before, you'd have had Bayern Munich, Getafe, Bayer Leverkusen, Zenit St. Petersburg, Rangers, Sporting Lisbon, Fiorentina and PSV Eindhoven all battling it out to get a spot in the final. If that's not enough spots, then they could add in an extra team - 8 games, 5 teams in each semi final league with just one team going through would produce some amazing football as they'd almost certainly have to go for the win in every game.
As an aside, am I right in thinking that Rangers are now in Pot 2 for the Champions League draw as a result of Copenhagen and Panathinaikos going out?
Was just looking at the list of qualifiers and Pot Seedings for Champs League:
Pot one
Barcelona
CHELSEA
LIVERPOOL
MANCHESTER UNITED
AC Milan
ARSENAL
Sevilla
Bayern Munich
Pot Two
Lyon
Inter Milan
Real Madrid
CSKA Moscow
Porto
AZ Alkmaar
Juventus
RANGERS
Pot Three
Olympiakos
Marseille
Dinamo Kiev
Stuttgart
Fiorentina
Atletico Madrid
Bordeaux
Besiktas
Pot Four
Wolfsburg
Standard Liege
Maccabi Haifa
FC Zurich
Rubin Kazan
Unirea Urziceni
APOEL Nicosia
Debrecen
Its an interesting mix, with Sevilla in Pot 1 and Real in Pot 2, ditto AC & Inter, German Champs Wolfsburg in Pot 4, Rangers in Pot 2. Obviously previous performance in Europe determines seedings, but its just interesting to see how long those points last (ie Sevilla). Its feasible to get a group that is really weak looking for example Sevilla, Rangers, Olympiakos, Debrecen whilst at the same time get some pretty toughies like Barca, Inter, Bordeaux and Wolfsburg.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Bordeaux get on this year, think Gourcuff could be a fucking superstar very soon, surprised he's not been shipped out The Greatest League in the World*TM for silly money this summer.

Only works if you know how long each band is playing, openers geting same set length & changeover as headliners would be unusual.
Was only trying to help - as yet there have been no set times published.
I'll keep it to myself in future ?(

Don't get too excited if it is indeed a swap deal for Aberdeen's first Chinese international.
Don't think Saints would interested in a swapsy, mainly due the higher number of Centre Mid's we already have (if in fact that is what Young is? what is his actual position?) in Dorman, Murray, McGinn, Thomson, Brady, O'Donnell.
I've heard a rumour however that we'd be quite happy to just hand his contract to Aberdeen to free the wage up and allow us to bring Stevie Hammell in from Murdersmell.

Mo Camara to Aberdeen?
I'm not religious, but please God let this be true...

Is it possible to buy tickets at the gate on the day? Been asked by a few folk now...!

I agree, and West Ham should play their next few cup games behind closed doors to boot.
Not sure I agree with that to be honest, the only thing that West Ham and Millwall did wrong as clubs was to draw each other in the cup in the first place.
Punishing the clubs, players and staff, not to mention the football supporting fans will do nothing to reprimand the mindless thugs who were just there for a fight last night.
I heard there were firms from as far as Leeds and Cardiff there last night, who were involved on both sides of the fighting.
Having this game as a late kick off midweek meant that all the hooligans had all day to get pished and organise a scrap, it was blatantly obvious from the moment the draw was made that something like this would happen.
