Sorry x ///// dot to dot presents Everything Else Sucks With residents.... ADO (Wax:On) EEZMA KRAZZY MARTIN Friday 1st July 2011 Snafu, 1 Union Street, Aberdeen, AB11 5BU 11pm - 3am ***FREE BEFORE 12.30am / 5 after*** ///// ADO (Wax:On/Moda/Lektroluv) Dundee based Ado is one of the leading figures of new young Scottish producers releasing great electro and techno alongside the likes of Clouds and Polymath. His latest release, a remix for friend Tom Staar, came out on Radio1's, Jaymo & Andy George's label as part of the Moda Volume 1 compilation. With remix for Kissy Sell Out and The Subs along with half a dozen releases of his own its no wonder he has played alongside the likes of the Crookers, 2 Many DJ's and Erol Alkan and at established club nights like Reclaim the Dancefloor and Space. EEZMA (Everything Else Sucks veteran) Since our birth in the cold wintery months of 2008, EEZMA has been part of our family, playing the more thumping side of electro. He has supported everyone from our first guest Hostage to Foamo and Shadow Dancer to Zombie Nation. This month he got to the last 6 of the Rockness DJ, not to bad considering the quality and quantity of entries this year. KRAZZY MARTIN (Everything Else Sucks & Electrique Boutique honcho) Hates everything and anything but can play a really good mix of house and electro. Lately he has been throwing in some deeper stuff like Maya Jane Coles and Lance DeSardi so he is surely the man to get the party started this month. ///// - dot to dot - Every month at Snafu dot to dot will release a Friday night schedule hosting Europes best labels, showcases and party collectives on our Funktion1 stage. Last month we welcomed Foamo, Hostge and Clouds to join us and they all blew the roof off the 1000+ capacity venue. ///// JACK BEATS Jack Beats have had a profound effect on the club scene. Whether turning out remixes for the likes of La Roux and Florence & The Machine or releasing their own genre bending club smashes like U.F.O EP on Hervs Cheap Thrills label, Jack Beats cutting edge sound has demanded attention. From day one Jack Beats productions has been well supported by major industry players such as Zane Lowe, Annie Mac (who has played almost everything they have produced), Diplo, A-Trak and the Crookers. Jack Beats represent part of the new wave of British house music. Wobbly basslines, big breakdowns and edgy accapellas are cut, copied and pasted together to create a floor-filling brand of house. Citing influences as diverse as Timbaland, Rage Against the Machine, A Guy Called Gerald and SebastiAn, this British duo demanded our immediate attention after their gob-smacking take on Boy 8-Bits anthem Fogbank dropped earlier this year. Jack Beats is set to play at some huge events such as Creamfield, Global gathering, Hideout festival (Croatia), Hard summer festival (LA), The Love festival Hawaii. And has previously played at I love techno (Belguim) Reclaim the dancefloor (Eden Ibiza) and Puklepop (Belguim) BUT more importantly The Ice Factory (PERTH!!) 28/08/11 ///// facebook.com/ees.aberdeen.08 facebook.com/jackbeatsmusic myspace.com/everythingelsesucks myspace.com/jackbeats residentadvisor.net/profile/eesucks soundcloud.com/eesucks soundcloud.com/jack-beats soundcloud.com/is_kill soundcloud.com/pmcq soundcloud.com/squelchy soundcloud.com/cheap-thrills-records twitter.com/eesucks twitter.com/jackbeats wesc.com

The two boys from Perth have been gaining support from the likes of Zombie Nation, Annie Mac and Erol Alkan with their own production work, remixes and DJ sets. Their DJ sets are a high energy mix of the more techno side of electro and when they played for us early in the year they absolutely thumbed Origin and left the kids in a bit of a sweat. Some of their gigs so far include Muck at Stereo and New Years Eve they played to a packed out Arches in Glasgow alongside Kissy Sell Out. They have also just been announced to play the Sub Club Sound System at this years Rockness. Their incredible Liquid / Mauful Sir EP was the debut release for Fake Bloods, Blood Music label, receiving massive support from all corners. They have also gone on too remixes Underworld, Dem Slackers, Screendeath and their remix of Proxy 8000 was featuring on Boys Noizes recent DJ Mag mix CD. They have also just released their 'Numbers' EP on Turbo Recordings. This has been the most anticipated release to come out on Tiga's label and is gonna be tearing up dancefloors everywhere for the next few months. POLYMATH Hailing from the Scottish Highlands, Polymath burst onto the scene in 2010 with his ragbag full of samples and a cartload of ideas. Showing a keen versatility, his tracks have varied from slick disco jams (My Way to Surf) to acid fuelled electro bangerz (Bassduck). After early Radio 1 Support from Andy George & Jaymo and Kissy Sell Out, his tracks received heavy deck-time from Wolfgang Gartner, Don Rimini, NT89 & Punks Jump Up. Polymath burst onto the scene last year with his ragbag full of samples and cartload of ideas. Martin Gowans aka Polymath has a taste for things that shine and a devilish eye for detail, cutting and shutting the least obvious of samples otherwise left to rust, welding and polishing them into pure monster dancefloor incarnations. Polymath has already released his Babootee EP on Mofo Hifi Records and has a whole heap of upcoming remixes for Arveene & Misk, Blende, Cornershop, Suxx and is currently putting together 2 brand new eps hopefully due for release in the summer.." The club closed over 6 months ago but its opening again and Everything Else Sucks have chosen a few of our favourite past guests to join us. FOAMO We are such massive fans of this young man that this will be Foamos 3rd time at Everything Else Sucks. We first welcomed Foamo aka Kye Gibbon to Aberdeen in 2009, he played such a fitting set for us that we had to welcome him back in October 2010 for our 2nd birthday bash. Kye also treated us to an old skool garage set at the pre-party that night. He has already established himself as one of the best producers to come out of the UK in recent years. Its not often that talent comes rising through the ranks fully formed, undiluted, and with as much potential as Foamo has done. Countless comparisons have been made between him and some of the very finest and he's gained the support of DJs including Diplo, Armand Van Helden and Rob da Bank. Not bad for a boy from High Wycombe. Known not only for the depth and quality of his engineering skills (never mind the huge basslines!) but also as a respected DJ, since we met Kye he has toured America and Australia, play to festival-goers across the globe and earn an exclusive residency at Chew the Fat! in the UK and at Space in Ibiza where last year he played alongside Felix da Housecat, Simian Mobile Disco and Groove Armada. Kye was raised on a healthy diet of drum & bass, grime and garage, but it was through listening to Kissy Sell Out on Radio One that he was introduced to the more house-orientated sound that gave rise to his bass heavy 4/4 productions. After the success of his first single 'Moving It Over Here' gained him international exposure, later productions, including some huge La Roux bootlegs, remixes for Diplo & Laidback Luke and Major Lazer, his ridiculously heavy collaboration with Lee Mortimer, as well as his own releases of late Centavo and Generate Some Heat its no wonder he has been supported by everyone from Annie Mac to DJ Zinc. HOSTAGE Edinburgh based Hostage aka Alan Parley was our first ever guest over 3 years ago. Since then Alan has gone on too play the Annie Mac presents tent at Rockness before Boys Noize, headlined the Arcadia Afterburner at Glastonbury and recorded an essential mix for Radio One. 11. Everything Else Sucks 'Circa 2008' Party DJAMBA (Everything Else Sucks/Hush Hush) EEZMA (Everything Else Sucks ...KRAZZY MARTIN (Everything Else Sucks) Saturday 9th April Origin, 40-42 Windmill Brae, Aberdeen 11pm - 3am 5 all night Nowadays there seems to be a new club night launching or having a relaunch party every week in Aberdeen. Some promoters are putting on nights because they have a genuine passion for the local scene and the music their night offers. Some like money and will create a 'unique' club night exprience to make as many pennies and lady friends as possible. Sometimes these kinds of promoters do create an interesting night and for that reason we respect them cause they are adding to the scene. Most though are just tricking people and doing nothing but damage. No need to name and shame the bad ones or credit the good ones, cause in due time the shit nights will fade away but the real promoters will still be run nights cause they have a real passion for Aberdeen's nightlife and a real passion for good quality music. Back in October 2008 we ran our first night in the Tunnels and hosted parties there for 6 months. These party were so much fun, even with the shit sound system, no equipment and no smoke machine. Djamba and Eezma have been with us since the begin, threw thick and thin, playing amazing parties with top class guests from all round the world and also playing to a near empty club. We're not gonna offer any bullshit gimmicks or wanky nonsense, just the best quality house, electro and techno music from now and also then(2008 ees party era). Thanks for reading our rant. We hope we offended some people and we really do hope some of you understand and keep supporting Everything Else Sucks. myspace.com/everythingelsesucks twitter.com/EESucks residentadvisor.net/profile/eesucks cluborigin.com soundcloud.com/calumstuart soundcloud.com/krazzy-martin wesc.com

Drawing on influences as diverse as Animal Collective and Green Velvet, their musical dexterity is more than apparent in their musical creations, joining the dots between driving electro, bumping house and crunching techno, all the while retaining a musicality and longevity often found lacking in much of todays disposable club music. Their low-frequency, bass-driven tracks are sure to give any crowd their moneys-worth and their ever growing list of suitors is testament to that. Despite their limited output they have managed to attract the attention of some of the biggest and best names in club music, making ardent fans out of the likes of Tiga, Fake Blood, Proxy, Sinden and Boys Noize. Their incredible Liquid/Mauful Sir EP was released on Fake Bloods, Blood Music label back in October and recieved massive support from the likes of Radio 1's Annie Mac. Tracks like 'Sea Horse' and 'Splatter Pie' as well as remixes of Proxy, Screendeath and Teki Latex have made them the biggest upstarts in the scene. Oh yeah, did we mention they are still in their teens?? On warm up duties we have How's Your Party?(Sub Club) and Mized Bizness owner Boom Monk Ben and Everything Else Sucks resident Djamba playing back 2 back. Event page...
