I have lately been indulging in wanton nostalgia and so purchased the following:
Audioslave - Audioslave
The Distillers - Sing Sing Death House
Stone Temple Pilots - Thank You
The most recent releases I have purchased were "The Con" by Tegan and Sara and "We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank" by Modest Mouse.

Umm, no, I'm suggesting she looks like a fat baldie.
Jade
Buddah
Jade Buddha did you say?
Anyway, on the substance of this, there are far worse people than Jade out there, who would be deserving of the level of vitriol in this thread.
People talk about her being thick, but the woman has amassed a reasonable fortune off the back of punters buying magazines/books/perfume/watching TV shows with her involvement. So who exactly are the thick people here?
I feel sorry for her kids, not many children with terminally ill parents have to put up with their mother's illness being front page news, and also with their dying mother being slagged off by people.
Still, if it helps make people feel better about themselves in some way...

Finally got round to seeing The Wrestler last night, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Mickey Rourke's part isn't exactly open brain surgery, but he played it well. Credit also to the fly-on-the-wall way it was shot, and the fact it didn't go for the happy ending, thank god.
Marissa Tomei =
Frost/Nixon next.
I went in to see the Wrestler the other week.
I really enjoyed it, although the whole time I was watching it I couldn't help but think of the Jake The Snake part of "Beyond The Mat".
A thinly veiled influence if ever there was one.

It sure is! Especially considering I also played in the school orchestra with the mother of your child.
I suppose now would be an inopportune moment for me to start worrying about the fact my mother's maiden name is Morrice... 8o
I shall have to advise Mrs Tanned accordingly.
And no, Rathen, she isn't still in the school orchestra, she's actually older than me (by 4 days...) the cradle-snatcher!!!

Nah, there was an injury bug in the first version of the game that has been fixed by subsequent patches.
I'm moving house just now but when it's all sorted I can shove the patches onto a CD and give it to Jen to take into work for you...
Cool! I will have a look at trying to download etc. but if you were able to do that it would be most appreciated!
It is a small world isn't it?

You! *points frantically*
You're back!!!
*looks at self*
Holy shit! So I am!!!

Nothing wrong with nostalgia, some of the old threads were fantastic.
Said the old man, in the corner, shaking his walking stick at the "youth of today"...

Picked it up in the Game sales, but have had precious little time to fire it up as being a daddy is taking up so much time!
My laptop can handle the game but can't seem to cope with the 3D engine. I think I may be running too many leagues as well.
I am guessing the injury bug is basically the fact that players drop like flies on a regular basis? I started a Man City game (just so I could spend lots of money) and within five games I have eight first team players out injured.
I don't have internet access from my laptop so is there a way I can fix said bug?
Or is it maybe the fact that I just have a very injury-prone squad?

Beautiful Mountain does a good brekkie, it's nae cheap, but it is scrummy.
For those willing to venture further afield, Cloggy House in the Kirkhill Industrial Estate do a fantastic breakfast.

Does anyone remember the really crappy live action TV version of Cludeo?
At least real life murderer Leslie Grantham was able to offer some authenticity to it.
Leslie Grantham killed someone?!?
I know he was a bit of a perv, but are you sure?

I always thought Miss Scarlet was kind of hot. Mind you, the only competition was old fat, Mrs. White and it was at a time when I found the twins from Fun House attractive (Melanie and Martina?). Speaking of Fun House, why was it that they always picked the obese kid with asthma to do all the running about?
There was Mrs Peacock too, although it is fair to say her best days were behind her...

Ah, well, that's alright then, much more kiddy friendly!

He sells drugs.
Ah!
Forgive me, I'm not down with the lingo...

I read it, and this bit leapt out at me:
Reverend Green becomes Jacob Green, a go-to guy "with all the ins".
What in the name of all that is sacred does that even mean?!?!?!?

Words fail me...

Obviously it was just me and Mrs Tanned then...
I guess everyone was too busy watching "When Kitchen Utensils Attack" on Sky or something...

At least Jayne and the others involved in Feugh Fest had the vision and drive to put on an event of this nature, more power to their arm frankly.
The line-up wasn't entirely to my taste, but that shouldn't detract from the effort put in, and the good intentions which lay behind it.

Anybody watch this last night on BBC 2?
It was excellent, and good to see that the Beeb might actually be using the license fee appropriately to produce decent drama instead of "ratings war" rubbish...

The "Don LaFontaine parody" trailer for Jerry Seinfeld's 'Comedian' - hilarious
Movie trailers won't be the same again, although I do notice that more and more seem to be ditching the voice-over, which is a pity.

Why do we need to have "real people" involved. Look at how great the Pixar films are without any dodgy acting bringing it down.
This makes me very angry...

Having reviewed some of the threads I contributed to in the olde days, I thought this one generated some decent discussion.

This thread has strengthened my resolve to use pester power to purchase a 360 so I can get online and play some quality matches.
Until then I will have to content myself with PS2 fun and games.
I have no intention buying a footie game for the Wii, the control system looks baffling.
