  1. I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a letting agent? I notice that there are quite a few complaints about agents from tenants in the Rant thread but does anyone have experience of using an agent to rent out their flat? I am going to be away for a year so it wouldn't be practical to arrange a private lease.

    Thanks!

  2. I would recommend the King Street Dental Practice. It's not too expensive and I didn't have any problem getting an appointment. I'm not sure if it is still taking on new patients but it's worth a try!

A friend of mine used G Dens once and her experience wasn't particularly good. She found it to be a huge waste of time because they couldn't sort her problem out. After two unsuccessful treatments at G Dens she registered with a private practice.

  3. I've just remembered I saw Overboard at the weekend too. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell at their very best. I love Channel 5 and ITV2 on a Sunday. They always show these kind of films. Just what you need when you're hungover.

Oh yeah, watched Nanny McPhee too. Fairly enjoyable (if you like kids films)

  4. Christ, what are you actually doing to them and what makes have you tried already?

I agree with the Sennheiser option as recommended by Dave and would also like to throw the Koss "Spark Plugs" into the ring. 16, good bass response and very comfortable.

Um, I don't think I've been doing anything that would damage them. I think I might be jinxed. I can't remember what makes I have tried already because the rage at only hearing music in one ear results in me launching them into the nearest bin.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I will look into getting some new ones tonight.

  5. Are all headphones rubbish? I am on pair number 3 in less than a year and despite paying a little more on the last pair in the hope that they'd last a little longer I've been disappointed again.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced pair of in-ear headphones? I don't want anything too fancy as I only use them for my walk to work but I want some that wont send me into a rage after 3 months.

    Thanks

  6. Fancy dress ideas

The last three fancy dress parties I've been to have been Heroes and Villians, Disney characters and gangsters and molls, the last one being the most boring IMO

The heroes and villians one resulted in a fair bit of cross dressing, given that not many of the girls could think of female heroes that didn't involve being sprayed into an outfit. Nobody dared the serial killer option at that one and although I did consider it, I figured Lara Croft would be easier. Maybe wait til next time to use my Rosemary West glasses!

Disney is fairly easy because of the massive range of characters. We had Cinderella, Cruella De Vil, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins amongst others. There are also the more difficult ones, like Bambi, the Monsters Inc characters and The Lion King for people who like a challenge.

  7. You could try Flatshare - House Share & Rooms to rent 190,000 Flatshare ads in the UK or SPARE ROOM for flatshare, house share, flat share & rooms for rent There is a mixture of students and non-students on both but they usually give more details about the type of flatshare they are looking for than gumtree. I found it saved me a lot of time because I emailed a lot of people through gumtree only to find they were totally unsuitable because they hadn't given detailed descriptions of what they needed (ie smoking allowed).
