  1. I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a letting agent? I notice that there are quite a few complaints about agents from tenants in the Rant thread but does anyone have experience of using an agent to rent out their flat? I am going to be away for a year so it wouldn't be practical to arrange a private lease. Thanks!
  2. Could definitely be worse.... I can hear my neighbour "singing" along to Daniel Beddingfield
  3. It looks like the 5 day tickets and 100 broken windows are sold out already. Managed to get myself a ticket for The Remote Part
  4. Snow Patrol - Set the Fire to the Third Bar
  5. Thanks! I tried to buy on ticketweb but there seems to be a weird glitch in the website and I couldn't complete the order.
  6. I saw the end of the ladies road race this morning. The first gold medal for GB.
  7. I would recommend the King Street Dental Practice. It's not too expensive and I didn't have any problem getting an appointment. I'm not sure if it is still taking on new patients but it's worth a try! A friend of mine used G Dens once and her experience wasn't particularly good. She found it to be a huge waste of time because they couldn't sort her problem out. After two unsuccessful treatments at G Dens she registered with a private practice.
  8. Idlewild - You held the World in your Arms
  9. The Beastie Boys - Fight for your Right (to Party)
  10. I've never been able to make sense of the lettering system used in my block of flats. A and B are on the top floor (make sense so far), F and C are the next floor down and D and E the next floor after that. ?(
  11. And I thought they'd never do any better than Stefan Dennis
  12. I've just remembered I saw Overboard at the weekend too. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell at their very best. I love Channel 5 and ITV2 on a Sunday. They always show these kind of films. Just what you need when you're hungover. Oh yeah, watched Nanny McPhee too. Fairly enjoyable (if you like kids films)
  13. Trainspotting I watched Trainspotting for the first time in about 10 years this weekend. I'd somehow forgotten how funny it is.
  14. Um, I don't think I've been doing anything that would damage them. I think I might be jinxed. I can't remember what makes I have tried already because the rage at only hearing music in one ear results in me launching them into the nearest bin. Thanks for all the recommendations, I will look into getting some new ones tonight.
  15. Are all headphones rubbish? I am on pair number 3 in less than a year and despite paying a little more on the last pair in the hope that they'd last a little longer I've been disappointed again. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced pair of in-ear headphones? I don't want anything too fancy as I only use them for my walk to work but I want some that wont send me into a rage after 3 months. Thanks
  16. Fancy dress ideas The last three fancy dress parties I've been to have been Heroes and Villians, Disney characters and gangsters and molls, the last one being the most boring IMO The heroes and villians one resulted in a fair bit of cross dressing, given that not many of the girls could think of female heroes that didn't involve being sprayed into an outfit. Nobody dared the serial killer option at that one and although I did consider it, I figured Lara Croft would be easier. Maybe wait til next time to use my Rosemary West glasses! Disney is fairly easy because of the massive range of characters. We had Cinderella, Cruella De Vil, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins amongst others. There are also the more difficult ones, like Bambi, the Monsters Inc characters and The Lion King for people who like a challenge.
  17. I work in the Performance dept of an investment company. My dream job - no. I never thought that my working life would end up revolving around Excel. The money is alright though so I only plan to stay in this job until I have enough money to go travelling.
  18. You could try Flatshare - House Share & Rooms to rent 190,000 Flatshare ads in the UK or SPARE ROOM for flatshare, house share, flat share & rooms for rent There is a mixture of students and non-students on both but they usually give more details about the type of flatshare they are looking for than gumtree. I found it saved me a lot of time because I emailed a lot of people through gumtree only to find they were totally unsuitable because they hadn't given detailed descriptions of what they needed (ie smoking allowed).
  19. 1 ticket for sale for the gig on Friday 14th Dec at the AECC. I just want to get my money back so selling at face value of 25 + the 3 booking fee. PM if interested.
  20. I have one spare for the Friday night, let me know if you're interested.
