Watched Planet Terror last night. I liked Death Proof, but Planet Terror was miles better.

Trailer looked promising anyway. (For the new one).

Apparently Brewster is not in fact injured but made a gentleman's agreement with JC and Stewart Milne not to play against Aberdeen this season when they let him leave to take the ICT job.

Pretty sure there aren't any. Had a stag do there a couple of years ago and ended up in The Ice Factory. I think it and Sportsters are the only late night drinking establishments.

Had a great night, but as ever, it doesn't matter where you go on a stag do, it's the crowd you have with you that make it.

Just hope they don't kick langfield in the jaw in the opening minutes like they did to Leighton the last time we played there.

Well, not only is Meat Loaf pricey, but it also seems that after paying your fifty quid he walks offstage part way through the gig and says he's never going to perform again.

ROCK singer Meat Loaf cut short his Newcastle gig last night, telling fans he may never perform again.

This is the last show I may ever do in my life, he told a packed Metro Radio Arena before leaving the stage.

Not words the thousands of Meat Loaf fans wanted to hear from the big man of rock three quarters of the way through his Halloween gig.

But the show could well be the last from Marvin Lee Aday, aka Meat Loaf, as he went on: I can no longer continue, before walking off to the strains of his hit song Paradise By The Dashboard Light.

It is believed the singer, whose most famous album Bat Out Of Hell is one of the biggest selling ever, was suffering from inflammation of the larynx.

From the off, Meat Loaf looked to be struggling, with the two female backing singers carrying the vocals through most of the songs.

The band had played about a dozen tracks spanning Meat Loafs 30-year career and even though it was evident time had taken its toll on the performer the 60-year-old struggled to reach high notes and was having problems with timing and remembering lyrics he still appeared in a jovial and witty mood.

He also played up to the crowd with a planted can of Newcastle Brown Ale, choosing this over the advances of the backing singers, to much laughter and cheering.

But when the intro to Paradise began, he announced: This is the last show I may ever do in my life. As the intro stretched over two minutes, Meat Loaf looked uncomfortable. His daughter, Pear Adam, who was his support act, had been standing in the wings and also looking uncomfortable.

He sung the first line and stopped. I can no longer continue, he stated to the stunned crowd, many of whom thought it a Halloween prank. But he continued: I take off my coat and thank you for 30 years, before leaving the stage, possibly never to return.

Fans were stunned. Kim Wilson, of Newcastle, said: The hall was in shock as he left the stage, as he declared, for the very last time. His voice may have faltered but his charisma and presence remained as huge as ever. He did croak for about an hour though.

The performer has been hinting at quitting touring for some time. A doctor had been called to the Arena earlier in the day and paramedics were on-hand with oxygen if needed during the gig.

Let's be positive. We took care of Rangers under pressure to finish 3rd and they have been beaten by Dundee United and somebody else (Hearts?) this season already. We can take them.

Son Henry truly is amazing on the lap steel. We really are privileged to have somebody like that here in Aberdeen.

Always seemed like a top bloke when I saw him on telly. Must have been pretty good knowing that Dolly Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" for you. Supported The White Stripes this year too.

if downloading kills the likes of Boyzone or whatever pish corporate parp is being fed to the young, I say its a good thing they don't make anymoney, I'd call that a revolution.

Sadly that's unlikely to happen. The very people who buy Westlife and James Blunt at Asda with their shopping are the people who are too stupid to work out how to download music. Sensible people who like decent music can work out how to get it for free.

Well they've finally acknowledged the greatness of Dire Straits. Which is a bit surprising, they mentioned the band during A Year and a Half... but I had assumed that they wouldn't like them.

Good cover I thought. Would like to see them do a full electric version as well though.

Has anyone been in the bar "Characters" down the harbour? It actually looks quite nice from the outside but being that it's at the harbour it's probasbly full of rapists and stuff. I fancy giving it a look some time.

Had a harbour run a few months back and Characters was one of the best bars down there, along with the Crown and Anchor. Yes, I like The Moorings too, but the crowd I was with weren't interested in live music.

My mate swears that Characters is a gay bar, but I just think he made that assumption because it was "nice" and also they had Eurovision on. Mini tellys on the beer taps too, never seen that before.

I wouldn't know actually - probably the very first five-ish that were aired on Channel 4.

South Park lasted about five episodes before I tired of it.

Which five episodes did you watch though? If it was the very early series then I can see why, but series 5-11 are brilliant, and very clever.

Something like "Scott Tenorman Must Die" is as good as TV gets IMO.

Spot on. South Park and peak era Simpsons for me... can't stand Family Guy.

Have to agree with this, except the bit about Family Guy, never really watched it. Simpsons has been rubbish for about ten years now, but the peak stuff still beats everything else discussed here.

South Park is still doing it though, the episodes in the last few weeks have been good.

I liked the ending. I'm a sucker for happy endings, and this ending lets me believe that Tony and the family lived happily ever after, eating their onion rings.
