  1. Typical "Spirited comeback without quite the cutting edge to fully get back into the game after going down...." behaviour from United tonight, although we were excellent in the second half. Why did Levein start in a 4-5-1? If we'd gone 4-4-2 and taken it to them from the start we'd have had an excellent chance of winning the game. Oh well.

  2. Gear wise, i use a marshall AVT-150 through a marshall 60's lead cab, (in inverness :( ) which im selling to buy an hugh and kettner cab (the model that comes with the trilogy head) as i had my marshall running through one of yashins, sounded proper amazing,

a boss chromatic tuner and noise suppressor,

    into one of three guitars,

A Fender Mexican Tele with EMG 81+85's or an epiphone les paul with and EMG 81/no bridge pickup, or my gibson SG special (soon to be replaced by an ESP LTD eclipse 256)

might add a boss digi delay soon for some soundscape. :p

Have you thought about buying a valve amplifier? That, with your Marshall 1960 cab, would probably sound better than the valvestate through a Hughes and Kettner..... Just an idea, and depending on the head obviously!

A tele with EMGs? Sounds mad, got a picture?! Whats the clean like on it also? Teles are usually magic clean, EMGs are usually well too loud and flat to be good clean, so it's an interesting combination, never seen/heard it before....

  3. I've decided just to keep the gear for now, found a way that the cab can be transported in my car with only minor modification to both car and cab.

p.s. But just as a matter of course; shipping to Bristol would be the only option I guess. That'd cost an extra 68 pounds, according to the parcelforce website, for 48 hr delivery, fully guaranteed and insured.

  4. Christ, what a difference decent recordings make eh?! These tracks sound about a hundred times better than the ones you had up before.

I'm gonna fly in the face of the trend prevailing on this thread and say I think the recordings are excellent given the amount of time you knocked them out in; clear, every element clean and crisp, big chunky guitar tone..... All in all, good job and well done boys!

  5. Bit rich of Severin to claim he's "bored" of the SPL isn't it? Not like he's done it all, won everything he could win and is now looking down on everyone else. Not even like he's much better than most of the other players in the league! Bizarre.

If Lee Wilkie turned round and said he was bored of the SPL I'd be the same, before anyone starts.

  6. I've just realised I've never actually posted on this thread; probably due to fear given the amazing collections some of you have!

But my gear is as follows:

    Guitars

Jackson USA SL2H Soloist in Yellow Gold Pearl (Now discontinued finish- basically canary yellow, near enough) with Dimarzio Tone Zone and PAF Pro pickups in place of stock Duncans.

Fender Vintage Hot Rod '57 Strat (USA) in Candy Apple Red

    Amplification

Mesa Boogie Solo 50 Single Rectifier Head

Mesa Boogie Rectifier 4x12 Slanted Cabinet

Laney LC15 Practice Amp (for in the house)

Native Instruments Guitar Rig (brilliant for recording/ practicing in the house)

    Pedals

    Korg DT-10 Pedal Tuner

    TC Electronics Vintage Compressor

    TC Electronics Vintage Overdrive

    Electro Harmonix Small Clone Chorus

    TC Electronic Vintage Delay

    Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb

edit- I've got a Line 6 POD v2 as well, which is good for teaching and practice, but Guitar Rig is better for recording. A lot better.

    Recording

    M Audio Delta 44 Soundcard

    PC

    Cubase SX3

    Ableton Live 7

Tannoy Reveal passive monitor speakers and Samson Servo- 170 amplifier.

    "DJing"

    Laptop

    Numark Total Control Interface

    Numark DJ I/O Interface

    Sennheiser Headphones.

    Cue/ Traktor software

  7. theres a good chance i'll keep it yellow for a while but in the long run its not really what i want to be remembered for

Paul Gilbert played a pink Ibanez in his early glorious days, and that's not what he'll be remembered for. Gambale played a yellow one at the time of "The thunder from down under" and it's unlikely that in future, guitar enthusiasts are gonna talk to each other in the terms of "Frank Gambale; he was that guy with the yellow guitar wasn't he?".

Let's agree to disagree: Original RG550- Good "shredders" guitar. Of this there can be no debate. At the end of the day it is the music produced with the instrument that is important, not the colour of it, nor the image that colour conveys or has influence upon.

  8. If you want a blue Ibanez, why don't you sell the yellow guitar and buy one?

Loads of the RG models they have out just now come in blue or shades thereof, and a used one would be easy to come by as almost every RG they did a couple years ago was a blueish colour of some description.

A yellow RG is an item that'd be cherished and loved by someone, not ruined in ANOTHER boring blue/ black/ grey/ purple wash.
