  1. anyone with the opinion that yashin are something more than fucking shite, probably doesn't deserve an opinion

P.S. Anyone who hasn't conformed to this type of junk, and is looking for a gig tonight, head to the East Neuk for fault and fracture, escape to victory (kirks new band) and clearer the sky.

Same could be said for you guys I suppose. Each to their own. If the 14 year olds like Yashin then fair enough. At least it's not Elliott Minor!

  2. This one has been fucking AWFULLY promoted. Had I not visited their myspace to ask them to come up and play within the next few months I would not have known about this.

I would not have searched for the thread and therefore would not have posted. I haven't seen a single fucking poster or ad for it anywhere.

It's always the same! I went to a gig in Tunnels which had 12 people there... but in Moshulu where Foals were playing it was practically sold out. There needs to be more communcation and people looking at what's on where and whether they are similar or not. The gig I went to had no advertising except the posters in the Tunnels. The band I went to see - The Ads, had actually previously supported Foals...

It's frustrating when you go to a gig and you know the band could really put on a good show and no one knows about it. Or when you find out about it... It's already past!

  3. In 2007 Aberdeen has seen Rob Tissera, Tidy Boys, Erol Alkan, Scratch Perverts, Slam etc. Don't think we can complain about a lack of decent djs in the north-east. Would have liked Pendulum to come but you can't have everything.

Energy Promotions have a new venue so hopefully they get more decent acts up.

My main gripe about the dj scene in aberdeen is it doesn't really exist outwith Kef and Snafu. They aren't really the types of places you want to go every week either.

I don't see why places like Liquid can't try and be a bit more diverse/creative and include decent djs and acts. On the rare occasion I go these days all they play is bloody Kate Nash and the killers. Don't other liquids across the UK play proper djs?

I know this... I've been to Scratch Perverts on a previous occasion. And I see that Optimo are returning again and DJ Yoda is heading to Kef. I agree about the venue thing tho. But I was really referring at bands doing DJ sets. When most of the time they just press play on their ipod. That's all!

Liquid would never be able to justify putting more diverse/creative acts on... You've seen the client group and you've seen the people who go to Kef/Snafu, they don't really go hand in hand. And to be honest, it would take a lot for me to back to Liquid!!

  4. well, whilst you were all enjoying Foals I was one of 12 people in Tunnels watching The Ads... Who had originally booked Moshulu but were turfed out. They could've shared a bill. Shame there was hardly any people at the gig. They're good! =]

  5. it could be frightened rabbit ...but no-one has said anything yet!

however, if not , come see the mighty rabbit at DHC on the 31st january!!!

(sorry to steal thunder but it needed said)

oh and idlewild / twilight sad - cant fucking wait

Indeed.... merely just speculating about what it may possibly be!
