  1. Danny Boyle talks Trainspotting Sequel, Porno | /Film

I heard this was further into development? They have almost the entire original cast, and since trainspotting was released about ten years ago, the actors will have aged realistically as Porno is set ten years after trainspotting. But... Ewan McGregor is refusing to have anything to do with Boyle of Irvine Welsh after losing the leading role in the Beach to DiCaprio, so I think it will be a bit naff.

What does everybody else think about this? Will this ruin Trainspotting? Or do you think this could be just as powerful a film?

  2. Nick Gibson who runs "Sound Ideas" music tutition is an amazing drummer, who specialises in jazz and pipe band stuff.

Best drummer in a local band, in my opinion, would have to be Rikki Will from Copy Haho, i had no idea he would be so exciting to watch just from the recordings (i don't mean that to sound arsey!)

  3. Well when he takes some action and makes some decisions and creates any impact whatsoever then maybe I'll want to hear about it. Right now this annoying wall to wall coverage is like the political equivalent of Heat magazine. It's all just gossip and celebrity and bullshit.

yes i do agree, the whole thing was overhyped in the first place, but hey, majority rule

  4. I'm sick of him being on my television daily, I don't give a toss who (who?) he is appointing to his cabinet, it's totally irrelevant, it's a foreign fucking country, it's a heap of fucking shit.

    Fuck off.

but unfortunately, his actions and decisions will hav a huge impact on the rest of the world

  5. I won't say I hated this film, but I was very let down.

I can't believe I'm hearing that most of you liked it!

    Denial?

I just thought it was a mess of a film. I was quite impressed with Casino Royale, but this wasn't anything similar.

I have been arguing most of the week (I am a massive Bond fan) that the Bourne comparisons are weak, but after sitting through the first shaky cam ridden hour of the film, I can argue no more.

The worst thing is the action sequences don't convey any action!

I can actually see how Bourne kills someone, whereas half of the time Bond is obscured by a fast panning shot, multi-edited to make sure I don't know what the hell is going on.

Simply weak, but I still love Daniel - he just didn't have anything to work with this time.

    5.5/10 for me.

oh its so true.... it skinned me the best part of 6 quid!

seriously though i hold it in a slightly higher opinion than you, i enjoyed it more than Casino Royale, but i am not a huge fan of the modern Bond films, i just feel like nowadays Bond doesn't have to think for himself, he may as well be a robot, and i think that was a large factor in the original sucess. i mean what happened to having a trusty knife that comes out the end of your shoe? or even a constantly changing registration plate?

i think it is definitely worth a watch though. if you don't want to part with the cash, wait and rent it.

  6. I had a similar experience. I was waiting for Iggy Pop to play the main stage and instead ambled on a group of grubby looking bastards who it turned out were the strokes. It was the weekend before their debut album came out and they had been promoted to the main stage from one of the tents, as the nme had jizzed them up.[/quote

I do have to agree to an extent with this, i seen them three years ago at T in the Park, and they were a little dull, and very drunk, but who cares? it was the bloody Strokes. I think regardless of their live performances, if your into their records, they are so good you can excuse them for being a bit shambolic live.

  7. Anything that gets Russell Brand less work is definitely a good thing.

Prick in acting like a prick shocker.

I can't stand Russell Brand, i liked watching him getting slated on Have I Got News For You, when he was put up against people with intellect...

I just think the whole appeal with Brand is the shock factor, and he definitely went too far this time. Even if the call hadn't been aired, it shouldn't have been done in the first place.

  8. I was listening to the Strokes first album the other day and i was reminded about how much i actually liked it in the past, and now i can't stop listening to it! I was just wondering if any of you knew if they were planning to release something in the near future? as i think they really found their sound again in their last album (didn't care much for Room on Fire.)

...but maybe their too old and too rich to be bothered now?

  9. i bought one not long ago, and its fantastic, display is amazing, the sound quality is great with a heap of equalizers to choose from, and the video playback is brilliant too.

the only bad thing is that i can imagine the screen is quite easy to scratch.

  10. yes i wouldn't bother with this, i know how you feel though, you want to believe it...but you kind of know there's something fishy about it. you'd really be looking for an A&R person to contact you for it to be legit. David O'Hagan from Mercury records got in touch with us saying he liked our tunes and stuff, and we got a pretty nifty gig in Edinburgh out of the affair, but even with that, we're not much better off, and he was genuine in his email, so i think your message is a bit of a long shot.

however you should look David O'Hagan up on myspace, he'd probaly take an interest in you, at the very least you might get a gig out of it!
