Before heading for colder climates he was the resident compere at the Stand in Edinburgh for 2 years, performing every Sunday. He has appeared at the Edinburgh Festival in a number of shows at the Fringe, all of which have received rave reviews.

After returning from Canada Graeme quickly established himself back onto the Scottish comedy scene, receiving great reviews; "Thomas is superb, a genuine rising talent", Edinburgh Evening News. Graeme also became a regular contributor on Fred McCauleys radio show on BBC Scotland, discussing news items and performing character skits.

  4. The Filthy Dukes and Stopmakingme are on route to Snafu now! Admission is 5 on the door and discount entry passes are available from The Athenaeum. Don't miss out on this! Doors are at 10pm!

London clubbing institution Kill Em All, a night which was created by the Filthy Dukes (now co-hosted with Stopmakingme and Riton) and started out in Londons legendary Embassy Bar, before moving on to The Lock Tavern in Camden, The Barfly and finally now calling home the crme de la crme of the UK clubbing scene FABRIC. Now, Kill Em All takes its infamous clubnight to pastures further a field joining Snafu on a bi-monthly basis in a collaboration between KEA and Dirty Hearts Club.

This isnt your average night out, nor is it an accolade not worth shouting about, come tonight, Thursdays will never be the same again.

The inaugural night sees the Filthy Dukes joined by new resident DJ, producer and live performer in his own right Stopmakingme and promises to deliver some of the most cutting edge and innovative guests from the underground indie and electronic scene on every visit.

The duo began in 2003 with the vision of booking exciting new bands and DJs, with equal emphasis on both and soon gained a reputation for breaking new acts such as Bloc Party, We Are Scientists, Late Of The Pier, Friendly Fires, MSTRKRFT & Simian Mobile Disco, who all played very early gigs for the night. Since the early days the night has hosted the likes of Justice, Erol Alkan, Chemical Brothers, Friendly Fires, Boys Noize, Cut Copy, Crystal Castles, Popof, Zombie Nation, Digitalism, the list goes on... And it is this cutting edge, forward thinking booking policy which Kill Em All will bring to the Dirty Hearts Club.

  6. VOLCANO VOLCANO, PLEASE GO AWAY.

After a problematic weekend with the volcano, we not only had to cancel 1 but 3 guests.

We can however, with a smile on our faces CONFIRM that KILL EM ALL featuring Filthy Dukes, Stopmakingme and DHC DJs will still go ahead this Thursday, 22nd April as all the party will be travelling by train.

    No problems there then!

If you still need a ticket go to Club Snafu | Aberdeen Nightclub Box Office.

Lets get those fingers crossed that the nice wee cloud of ash and dust will be gone soon!

MIXTAPE WITH CAGEDBABY & DJAMBA // FRIDAY 16TH APRIL // SNAFU

Thomas Gandey aka Cagedbaby, Bordeaux based Brightonite, Fatboy Slim's right hand man, Live Artist, Producer and International DJ returns to his new monthly residency at Snafu's Friday night Mixtape.

International DJ, Artist, Producer acclaimed Remixer Thomas Gandey aka Cagedbaby has hit 2010 hard with a string of new releases for Southern Fried aimed squarely for the dancefloor. The first double AA side is released in April then monthly from then on, trust us, this is a set to be a massive year for the baby.

In 2009 Cagedbaby returned with arguably his best work yet. The Bordeaux based Brightonite delivered "Medicine". It's twined with B-side "Little Man". The single also has Cagedbabys Deep club mixes which have been recieving support from Radio 1 and all over Clubland. Medicine also has a stunning remix package courtesy of Radioslave, Analog People In A Digital World, JK, G.E.R.M & Rogue Element. A very busy man Cagedbaby continues his DJ'ing, writing and production and masterful remixing for some of the worlds biggest artists. His latest collaboration with Analog People In A Digital World "Circus" has been getting hammered on the radio and in clubs. It went straight in at No.2 in The Buzz chart and was playlisted by Pete Tong amongst others. Watch out for the follow up coming shortly!

Since his first album, the sublime Will See You Now, Cagedbaby has been constantly destroying Dancefloors the world over as a DJ, gathering a cult following by craftfully delivering his unique style of techno and disco, deploying his own re-edits, remixes and productions from his residencies in Ibiza's Space Terrace, Pacha and Eden to Womb and Fuji Rock in Japan, from the Big Day Out in Australia to Rock Ness, Creamfields, Glastonbury and Bestival; a firm festival favourite.

He's also been busy in the studio working with diverse artists from Fatboyslim to Radioslave, and Kris Menace to David Byrne - and massively in demand as a remixer including latest remixes for Hybrid, Nelski, The Editors, Empire Of The Sun, The Temper Trap, Grace Jones, Armand Van Helden, Sneaky Soundsystem, Don Diablo, The BPA and many others.

Pete Tony named Cagedbaby's new track "Mercy Hump" his essential new tune for Miami WMC Week on Radio 1 just a few weeks ago.

Check it out at Thomas Gandey aka Cagedbaby on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

As always, pre-club party, cocktails, music and discount passes available upstairs in The Athenaeum.

  17. MIXTAPE PRESENTS THE JAPANESE POPSTARS (LIVE) // FRIDAY 7TH MAY // SNAFU

    jappops2010.jpg

Snafu favourites - The Japanese Popstars return to Snafu, after what can only be described as mammoth session of worlwide live gigs, major festival bookings, and media praise off the back of their energy driven live shows and their critically acclaimed debut album 'We Just Are'.

Native to Northern Ireland (any fetishists expecting cute Japanese girls can leave now), and consisting of Declan McLaughlin aka Decky Hedrock, Gary Curran, and Gareth Donoghue. The Japanese Popstars are signed to bespoke indie label, Gung-Ho Recordings (Gus Gus, Zoo Brazil) in the UK, and Beatink in Japan (home of Underworld, Aphex Twin, Cinematic Orchestra).

The Japanese Popstars' only parallel with rock music is that they'd built up a sizable live following before releasing their first major single - some might even say cultish, judging by the amount of clips on Youtube. Their gigs are typically raucous affairs, with an energy that crackles with each beat, chord, and keyboard stab.

However, let's get one thing straight about the music - The Japanese Popstars aren't indie rave, or any other sub-sub-sub genre, theirs is big room, cool as f**k electronic music built for festivals and stadiums. They're not dance kids aping indie kids, nor are they indie kids dropping synths and calling themselves 'ravers'.

The Japanese Popstars - back to the future dance music for today, tomorrow, and forever - coming to a Snafu near you May 7th.

  19. DHC - KILL 'EM ALL RESIDENCY FEAT. FILTHY DUKES, STOPMAKINGME, DHC DJS // THURSDAY 22ND APRIL // SNAFU

    keaaberdeeneflyer.jpg

Filthy Dukes are bringing their famous "Kill 'Em All" night to Snafu in April. It will run on a bi-monthly basis on a Thursday night at Dirty Hearts Club, with the boys bringing in special guests each time. The first event is 22nd April with Kill 'Em All DJs and STOPMAKINGME.

Stopmakingme was in Bournemouth doing his thing as a very young dj supporting the likes of MSTRKRFT & Uffie - then he came up to London with talk of his love for clubs like Trash & Optimo and people thought he was just a scenester who could play a hot tune. Then when you talked to him he started referencing Paradise Garage and The Music Box, and when you heard him dj, he somehow managed to play a massive house record next to a Talking Heads record, next to a techno tune, next to a pop record and it all sounded amazing. This vast musical knowledge and ability to create sets that defy genre and can work a crowd into sweaty frenzy gained him a residency at London institution Fabric.

Stopmakingme is now a regular at parties such as Bugged Out, East Village, The Lock Tavern and Durrr. He is also a prominent member of the Adventures In The Beetroot Field camp fitting perfectly into their mantra of championing new and interesting music.

His kinetic mix of unwashed heavy electro, mutant new wave, huge disco, pulsing techno, updated post-punk and perfect pop has seen him constantly win over new fans, not least Simian Mobile Disco who hand-picked him to join them on their Autumn tour. In the last year alone he has played with The Chemical Brothers, Tiga, Erol Alkan, Boy Noize, Aeroplane, Popof, Andrew Weatherall, Tim Sweeney, Filthy Dukes, Simian Mobile Disco...

Not content with just djing he co-promotes Kill Em All, one of the country's most innovative and forward thinking club nights. You can also catch him behind the counter at London independent record shop Pure Groove - recommending records to customers and curating their impressive record label.

Amidst all this, Stopmakingme has recently produced remixes for Little Boots, Boy 8-Bit, Patrick Wolf, Filthy Dukes, Sisters Of Transistors, Lemonade and We Have Band with many more on the way. He is currently in the studio working on his debut EP.
