  1. Received an email this afternoon asking if I was interested in putting on Taint and Art of Burning Water in February (the date mentioned was Thursday 14th). Would anyone be interested in either putting it on or attending?

The reason I ask is, we (F & F) are putting on Down I Go and Manatees in early February (i forget the date) and I don't know if we're wanting to put on a second gig in February. Would certainly be a shame if someone wanted them up and it went to waste.

Should probably add that we may put this on - i've yet to speak to the others, but as mentioned, we're planning on putting on something else on, so chances are we won't want to do it. But you never know

  2. Apparently it means "We Play White".

Which could mean they play in a white strip or could be something more sinister. The picture below the slogan could sadly point to the latter.

Someone at work today was saying it was to do with a rival team (he didn't say who), purchasing a black player.

  3. did you catch heavy heavy low low?

Aye, in my opinion they were one of the worst bands i've ever seen. The singer was away with the fairies and the constant gyrating by the guitar player got a tad annoying. "Banter" included "you know,i don't know." and "Scotland. That's cool."

It didn't come across as them trying to be hilarious or anything (in the same way Horse The Band considered themselves to be when they played the Tunnels ages ago), more that they really just didn't care about their performance.

Having spoken to friends who are fans of the band, they were very disappointed and expected them to be ALOT better.

The only plus was that their guitar player was wearing one of your Archives tees

  4. Thanks for the link!Looks good and is certainly a decent price. Does it work alright with pedals like The Rat or any of the EH pedals with a different power input size?I have found a box online that costs 50 and that has cables specifically for these pedals and the line 6 modellers but they cost an extra 4 each.

Pedalboards, Pedal Board Cases, Effects Pedal Power Supplies and the Finest Hand-built British Guitar Amplifiers by Diago - Overview - that shows all the stuff it can do and the prices are in the "shop" section.

Diago Powerstation Compatability - shows just what that box is capable of.

According to that site, pedals such as the line 6 DL4 use 9V AC power compared to the Boss pedals which use 9V DC. Having consulted guitar shops, I understand that buying a separate adaptor would ensure a "hum" free signal although it should work fine on a DC adaptor. I have very little knowledge in this area though and have no idea whether buying a DC only box (like the one Sound Lab one) to run my pedals, which include the Rat and the DL4, would either damage them or cause the box to "blow" as a result of powering something it really wasn't designed for.

There are links on the Diago site to their competition but I've yet to come across anything that suits.

  5. I read on ebay of all places that they were splitting a while back but took no notice of it seeing as there was nothing on their myspace or their website. They have an EP that was part of a Japanese tour for sale on their site as well as a 9' with Ampere away to come out. They had been going a fair while.
