I was emailing the guy James from Yndi Halda/A Lily and he asked about a venue in Aberdeen where bands could sleep in it or above it or something, post-show. Anyone know anything about this?
-
Everyone will think I am some kind of tout. I am no such creature. Huw is no longer able to go and so I have another ticket going spare. 10 or there abouts would be fine. Open to offers. The gig is this sunday (the 27th) at the Barrowlands. Support from Eluvium. PM or email me if interested.

I still can't believe Paul from yourcodenameis:milo plays for The Automatic now...o_O

Any idea of times for this?

Secta Rouge are one of the supports.

Correction - the gig is on sunday 27th. Not the saturday. Apologies.

From what I've read, some shows down South have been like a karaoke.

26th January at Barrowlands. Eluvium supporting. Yours for 10. PM or email me. Thanks

yeah it was 2007
I like em, but they do sound *exactly* like Stop It! though
I've heard the name but not the music. Shall check them out

A massive thanks to all the bands, everyone who attended and Captain Tom and the rest of the guys who work there. From what I saw, everyone was having fun and it was a really good night.
Here's hoping more gigs take place there in the future! Thanks once again:up:
Should also add, a friend of CTS was filming the bands last night. If footage/sound is good enough for viewing, expect to see some videos soon.

Graham: 8 is fine. CTS are appearing then too.
Elizabeth: Aye, paying on the door is fine.
Hopefully be a good evening

I'm not going to decide until tomorrow whether or not to attend. There are many factors contributing to my decision.
However, is it impossible to just turn up and pay at 8pm, or what?
Well, it should be alright to do that. We're encouraging the tickets thing because we've agreed to give Tom some money for letting us have the place for the evening. The total cost of 4 practice rooms plus a studio and the rest is into hundreds of pounds (for 3 hours say) and by selling the tickets we can make sure a) that some people will actually appear and b) to give him some money by way of thanks. I'm aware Cap'n Toms is no longer open for practicing on Saturday evenings but all the same, we are using the building.
I hope this clears it up. I'd encourage you to buy a ticket from ourselves or the other bands playing but if you're making up your mind tomorrow then that's cool. I'd rather have you (and other people) there, than not.
Cheers

This was a massive disappointment for me though =/
Eluvium stuff was pretty cack compared to Copia.
I'm actually waiting on that album being delivered along with two others (thank god for ebay ), so there is a chance i could agree with you. To be honest that was the first i've heard eluvium and i really liked it. Very much looking forward to seeing him with explosions in a couple of weeks. Starting to get into that sorta stuff more and more - that local chap, Herzog, is excellent.

I find most RIFF stuff (early pelican, early ISIS etc) goes down a treat too.
