I can't believe I'm still posting in this thread.
Hey Citizen X! Check this out!
Thanks, I never really cared for sock puppets but I do appreciate You sharing the article.

Try building your own guitar... I did it and it works brilliant!
All this talk about brands, brands and brands... DIY is the shizzle!
I'd consider it if I had a little more knowledge about guitar wiring and stuff, it seems a little too costly for Me though... I was on the Warmoth site looking at guitar bodies and necks and the prices are pretty high. You should post a pic of the one You made, I'd love to see it.

squires are good for people who dont have an enough money for a really expensive fender
I own MIA and MIM Fenders and bought a Squier Jagmaster II just recently, not because I was lacking the funds for something else but because I liked the body style and because it's a great guitar regardless of what it says on the headstock.

Today I took delivery of what I think is the finest pedal ever(well, that I've played through anyway)... a Boss HR-2 Harmonist! It's awesome. I've only been playing it for about 20mins through my Guitar Rig 2 setup, but it sounds great. It's guitarmony-tastic!
Anyone else got any great pedals which we should be aware of?
Congrats on Your new toy, I'll have to check one of those out.
All I own currently is a Boss DS-1:(

Or get a good guitar:
The Jagmaster isn't My only guitar, I have a MIM and MIA Fender as well but since this was a thread about Squier guitars I didn't include pics of those:up:
I understand that Squier guitars are budget models and I didn't come on here saying that it's better than high end guitars, I just happen to own a Squier and really like it.
Here's My Fender Cyclone II

Here's My Squier Jagmaster II

I'd spend the extra 50 on a Squier Tele Custom II P90 myself
I really like the looks of the Squier Tele Custom II:up:

Maybe if I'd have done something like this I'd have gotten more for My Squier '51o_O

Whatever Fender are paying you, I'll double it.
Fender isn't paying Me, I just signed up here today and didn't see that much life here on the board...thought maybe I was the only one here. I didn't see any Squier '51 threads and they seem to get alot of attention on other music related message boards so I thought I'd start one and sure enough somebody posted.
I actually had a '51 Myself, a Vintage Blonde....bought it at 149.99 before the 99.00 blowout.... I just sold it on Ebay for 88.00
I probably should've kept it, it didn't sound bad at all and at the price who cares if You ding it up a bit:up:

Just curious....What do You guys think of the Squier '51?

For a Bass I'd check out Squiers Vintage modified series:up:
Here's a link:

Here's What I got:up:
A Squier Jagmaster II
and a Fender Cyclone II

Stock Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridges are indeed terrible, that is why I bought one of these:
...It copes with down tuning just fine, mine is currently tuned down to C and I have no problems with that.
I think this would be an ideal replacement:up:

Here's mine:up:
The pickups are a Dimarzio PAF Pro in the neck and a Super Distortion in the bridge, I added aged volume and tone knobs to match the black/creme colored pickups and put on Graph Tech string saver saddles.

I've got a Boss DS-1, that is the only effects pedal I own but when I click that thing on, it can be pretty noisy when I'm not playing My guitar but when I start playing the noise goes away, would a noise suppressor be a good thing for Me to invest in?
I own 2 guitars and this happens regardless of which one I use.
