  1. He sure is, he kicked Neil Lennon in the head.

*waits for posts about what a hero Shearer is*

Alan Shearer is a massive prick; if I wasn't a Newcastle fan, I would hate the bastard. Phenomenal striker in his prime though, and the fact that he turned down Man United twice to stick with a bunch of mid-tablers is ace .

  2. Fair enough, it's just the way he conducted himself on the pitch that pisses me off (not just basing it on two incidents; he did similar stuff near enough every week). Maybe I'm just bitter about him brutalising one of my boyhood heroes or something...

And yes, Shearer was a complete tosser too

  3. what could you possibly have against one of the most consumate professionals English football has seen in recent years? I'm a Liverpool fan and even I can appreciate that he's pure class.

With all due respect mate, are you having a laugh? Definitely a very, very good finisher but he's got to be one of the biggest cunts in the league. Always willing to stick an elbow in someone's face if you could get away with it, and he was quite good at diving too.

This and a horrible clothesline on Aaron Hughes that nearly took his head off inspired my hatred of this horrible little shit from a young age.

Gets on my tits everyone sees him as the model professional too, grrr...

    Rant over!

  4. Been looking to get a couple of BK's to replace the mingin' stock pickups in my Ibanez SZ720, but I've nae got a clue which ones to get. The tone I'm aiming for is something similar to Kirk Windstein/Pepper Keenan in Down (bass-a-licious) but I play a lot of classic and southern rock too, so a bit of versatility wouldn't go a miss.

Any suggestions? I've been eyeing up the Warpig.

  5. I heard that a Sunderland fan posted on one of the AFC messageboards that Anderson was the worst player to ever play for Sunderland and that he hopes we get relegated for selling him to them.

Sounds like a typical Mackem to me. Seriously, along with Spurs fans ("Berbatov is twice as good as Beardsley and Shearer were in their prime," actual quote) they've got to be the most deluded bunch of knee-jerkers around.

  6. alreet?thats a canny list of good bands.i do vocals but left my last band a while ago,so looking to get going again.i'm into the likes of iron monkey, eyehategod, etc.giz a bell if you fancy a yap.oh,and i play bass too.

    cheers

    Check yer PMs...

  7. Is anyone else more than a little bit worried about Brewster's imminent departure? He seems to be the only player at the club with a functioning brain at the moment... here's hoping Jimmy doesn't decide that Derek Young is an adequate replacement .

  8. I've been out of the loop for a while and looking to get back into the swing of things. Looking for some like-minded individuals (drummer, bass player, vocalist and another guitarist) to make a noise with. I'm willing to throw some other influences (sludge, doom, some good old fashioned rock & roll) into the mix as well, just as long as the riffs are fat and the grooves are monstrous .

Influences include: Kyuss (obviously), Orange Goblin, Witchcraft, Down, Eyehategod, Crowbar, Corrosion of Conformity, Fu Manchu, Electric Wizard, Candlemass, Goatsnake, Mastodon, The Atomic Bitchwax, Trouble, Black Sabbath, Alabama Thunderpussy, etc...

    Anyone interested, gimme a hollar...

  9. And on that theme (although I think Superjoint are pretty rubbish), just pre-ordered this:

Fucking ace. Have you heard "I Scream"? Sounds badass. Cover reminds me of the last COC album for some reason, would be ace if it was just a white/cream "III" on a black background I reckon.

New High on Fire and Iced Earth albums in September too, yaldy!

  10. Aberdeen play a great 45mins against a Celtic side that didn't look to be all there. Then decided they weren't gonna bother coming out for the 2nd half and threw it all away. 2nd goal was a great example of our defence falling asleep at a crucial moment and the 3rd was a piss take. Darren Mackie once again showed no signs of why exactly he stills gets on the team sheet every week by missing a perfect opportunity to head home an excellent cross. Only way he could've missed that was with his eyes closed. Strachan got sent off for being a mad wee raj.

Such a frustrating match... I just don't get how a team can perform so well for one half then practically no-show the second. The first half was great though... players flying into challenges, Seve bossing midfield, Brewster proving a lot of dipshits wrong with a very good shift up-front, and then the second... Jesus Christ. In stark contrast to the first half, our midfielders looked shit-scared to make a challenge. Karim Touzani looked god fucking awful too, although I'll give him the benefit of the doubt this time because he's probably not as fit as the other lads.

Also Mackie... why the hell does Jimmy keep playing this jester? Alright, so he's nippy and he makes a nuisance of himself, but how the hell did he not manage to get on the end of that cross? Any other one of our forwards would have buried the header and probably won us the game.

Still, we can at least take heart from the first half performance and know that there's a good team in the making. All it's going to take is a little bit of tinkering up front and in the middle and we're sorted I reckon.

Oh, and the Toon drew with Villa. Not a great weekend for me .
