The Wind that shakes the Barley Junebug Hard Candy Capote The Propisition Little Miss Sunshine Hidden The Departed United 93 Children of Men The Prestige Its almost impossible to pick a favourite, I've seen about fifty films at the cinema this year! I'm gutted that I missed Grizzly Man & Three Burials. The Propisition however deserves a special mention. It was cathartic and absolutely brutal tale of British colonialism in Australia. Sometimes violence is so common place in modern films that someone can have their neck sawn off and nobody batters an eyelid. The Propisition is different matter altogether.

I love the Long Blondes but I think it’s important to remember that they haven't even had a top ten single or appeared on the front cover of the NME. The vast majority of people have never heard of the Long Blondes, Beth Gossip, Horrors or any other band currently being name checked by the magazine. Kate Jackson is incredibly sexy and has a gorgeous fruity voice but I don't think that her dress code is particularly original. I don't know anything about fashion but I would be surprised if anybody thought the glam charity shop image is unique by any means. She does appear quite suave though and has not achieved all this critical acclaim by accident. If they keep writing songs as good as Giddy Stratosphere, which is my single of the year then I can see remaining keeping their pouting glamour crown for a good while yet.

Is it not the case that whoever condemns the NME cool list for being vacuous and 'style over substance' is missing the point? It's supposed to be frivolous and entertaining!

When I was at school I used to love the Albyn Girl's school uniform and come to think of it, when I see some of their 'promiscous' sixth formers in town I still do! I know the nubile rock chick in the school uniform has been done to death but Lily Allen would look fucking amazing in an Albyn Girl's school uniform! She has the filthy personality to carry it off anyway

I really like Lily Allen, I don't think she is particularly talented but I love how she slags other bands off, which nobody else does anymore. I'm all for sexiness and bitchiness in rock 'n' roll. She has personality unlike some of her dullard male peers. Oh I think she was privately educated, so I think the common tart thing is misplaced but she does look a right dirty bitch, so I'll give you kudos for that!
