That does seem a bit dodgy. How old is it? The manufacturers guarantee should cover all aspects of the console unless it's mistreated. A hard drive shouldn't fail within a year so should be covered by warranty.

Not sure. My mates been told its his harddrive that is the problem and microsoft are saying he just has to buy a new one. I.e. Not their problem. which will also mean he would lose all his game saves and tag (although he could recover his tag). Still seemed a bit wrong when he told em about it. Surely the hard drive should come under the warranty. o_O

They should be sorted. But microsoft have extended the warranty anyway and if you do buy one that suffers the red ring of death, then I reckon by that point the HDMI ones which run cooler and have 65nm chips in them should be out. So you'll get a better console than the one that broke

Well halo like i said have taken steps to fix that. Because it uses designated servors for the game. So lag isn't really an issue, certainly not to the extent of games like gears of war etc.

man the multiplayer is soo good id buy it for that reason alone, singleplayers just gona be a bonus!!

Singleplayer must be better than in COD3 then. Only took a couple of hours to complete, and the game making system for multiplayer was pish in 3 as well. COD4's multiplayer is really good, but you get some mega-lag when you get shoved into a game of americans. Whereas because of halo using its own servers, lag isnt really an issue, which really improves the mutiplayer gameplay.

Aye, beta was good fun. But i think I will just wait for the new battlefield game. This was a fun beta but I don't think i'll bother with the real game. Although the customisation was a good feature.
