  1. I'm like this too.  I was very close to tears when Andy Murray won Wimbledon.

Here's another totally ridiculous / embarrassing one...

Karate Kid.  Not the classic one either.  The one with Will Smith's son.  Holy shit.  I watched that on a plane home from Dubai a couple of years ago and felt a bit emotional at the end.  Jesus.  No tears were shed (thank fuck or I might have jumped out of the plane).

I tend to get that on planes as well. I think it's because even on a packed plane...I still feel lonely and reflect on stuff.

  2. Sounds like the sloblo fuse. If yhou look on the back panel somewhere yhou should see a wee fuse holder. not sure what it looks like on an Orange amp. On my marshall it just looked like a 10mm dim black plastic thing with a screwdriver slot in it. Switch off the amp at the mains and remove this fuse for a look. I think it's something like 2amp or something...put it on the volt meter to check it out. They are not hard to get and cheap (if it is that of course).

I might be wrong though, but it sounds like the same that used to happen to me.

  3. I've had good results with any of the following:

SHO into the fx loop of my marshall. Probably the best results as it basically makes the sound you are playing...very loud:)

Eq pedal on the board. More subtle effect and works better depending on the sound you are using at time.

J&H running dist side then kicking in the OD side. Once again this give quite loud vol boost, but tends to sound more of an OD sound than a dist sound.

Overall the SHO through the fx loop was the best for me...especially if your fx loop has a vol control (mix)

Hope that helps. If you wait until I get back, I can show you what I mean if you like?

  4. The old curriculum clearly failed in your case so why not get a new one?

Seriously, so much of your post is unintelligible. I certainly don't have any  clue how this new curriculum works.

I think MM does okay considering he is only 15. No way would I have been able to discuss curriculum at that age...let alone do it on a forum. Yes it can be a mess at times, but at least the attempt is there.

  5. I've got 4 (had 6 altogether)  and they are/were all different. Late 70's early 80's were dodgy in body shape and in finish, although they did sound great. There was a wee flurry in 2002 when Gibson got their act together and brought out some cracking les pauls. Got a Gold Top from 2003...and it was nowhere near as nice.

I have a Robin guitar which is like Yamaha SG series, that i think is great.

Had PRS, but they never really sounded like a LP....then again they were not LP's but they were very good.

  6. What are their ideas and how do you know they are not right? If you already know that then asking her what they want to do about it is going over old ground. Listen to what they have to say about it before giving your opinion on it. They have a good chance of knowing what their currents needs are, and how best to handle the situation. They might however not know about the gear to get to satisfy those needs....that's where you can come in. Remember that it's not gear for you to use, it's for the people coming to the learning center. So with that in mind it's maybe better to get, for example, a couple of cheaper guitars (squires/epi's) instead of one MIM or USA model etc.

Of course you maybe already know that if so...sorry.

  7. I mentioned on the email I sent covering, i said i could get a reference from someone within the company if they liked, but I would not approach the company itself for a reference, but would happily supply references from my last few employers leading up to that.

seems like you had it covered then. You never know these days.

  8. Who's had the most? It seems to me that it's MM/YA, or at least as far as I've seen. The funny thing is though, in general his threads are not meant to cause trouble...just end up that way. Or at least going off tangent:)

  9. Nope, don't try to add 's' to it. I would rather use:

We will gather the groups feedback.

This implies that there is more than one person giving feedback. Or....

We will gather the feedback from the others. etc.

The only time I've heard it with an 's' is when it's something like:

The guitars feedbacks like fook. Even then I'm not sure it's a proper term/word.

  10. Why don't you try putting them in with the handles pointing at the back while they're cold? Then when it pings they should be right in front of you and ready to pick up.

Yes you would think that was a good plan....however you then need to use both hands to put them in, or put them in one at a time. All I'm looking for is even a 50/50 chance of the handles facing the front.....but alas it's never the case. It might be (and this goes back to a long running debate on here) the case that I always try to use even numbers 40sec etc. Maybe try 45 sec, but that goes against my need for using even numbers for as much as possible.

  11. Not sure if this is a pet hate or just something that bemuses me......no, it does annoy me a bit.

When I put two cups in the mircowave with the handles facing out, then no matter what time i set it for....the handles are always at the back and I need to use both hands to get the roasting fookers out.
