Bardo Pond. Perhaps Alan Cynic could persuade them when he's over at Terrastock....

These emails are themselves viruses, by causing panic and clogging up inboxes. That's why people do it, I guess.
Classic signs to look for in such hoaxes include reference to genuine companies (to give the email credibility) and ridiculous statements such as "Please send it to everybody you know who accesses the Internet". Genuine companies would never say such things.

Spiritualized being used to sell Toffee Crisps.

I thought the gig with Damo Suzuki at the Tunnels was fantastic.
Album is via Daniel Patrick Quinn http://www.suilvenrecordings.com/
(not actually out yet)

You can get the whole trilogy from Amazon for 13.94. Sounds like a bargain to me. Go to the URL bifta23 previously quoted and go down to the 'Perfect Partner' bit.

I've not heard the Donkey Rhubarb CD (Glass and Aphex Twin)...anyone got it?
Yeah, I've got that somewhere. Haven't listened to it for years though...
-
I also recommend all the names cited by ragudave. Plus Gavin Bryars - his 'Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet' makes me cry every time I listen to it.

any Lovecraft... i recall one with a submarine marooned at the bottom of the ocean.
I don't recall reading one like that as yet. I picked up the three lovecraft omnibus books for a fiver and i'm hoping it's in there if you can recall the title? Cheers
The one with the submarine is 'The Temple' I believe. It's online here http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/thetemple.htm

I'd just like to second the Kafka recommendation - his short stories are amazing, I like them even more than his novels. Personal favourites include 'In the Penal Colony' and 'Investigations of a Dog'. Fantastic allegories.
Some translations are better than others though.

Anyone know what the ticket price will be?
It's listed on seetickets.com as 8 face value, 9.25 total including booking fee.
I'm one of the chumps who missed them last time, so I'm looking forward to this.

With Sonic Boom supporting, according to his website

That's made my day....

Now don't sue me if I'm wrong here, but I thought the PSP AC adapter worked worldwide, rated 100 - 240v so it should work without a converter.
Also, the machine itself (and the games) are region-free, so there should be no problem there. UMDs are region-coded but Japan is Region 2 just like we are, so you should be fine I think.

Are we sure the Rubik's cube answer is correct? From a website devoted to the thing -
"The Cube has 43' date='252,003,274,489,856,000 different possible configurations."
Is that constitute a trillion, seems to be more to me, but then i'm mathematically challenged at the best of times....?[/quote']
OK, perhaps it's slightly more than exactly 43 trillion, but it's clearly the answer that was being looked for by whoever devised the riddle.
In the UK, a trillion has 18 zeros. It's potentially confusing because the yanks have a different system. http://www.jimloy.com/math/billion.htm

Actually, I think I might have that the wrong way round. Anyway, we've cracked it....
-
In the USA and Canada, they call a quintillion a trillion, yes.
-
There are 43 quintillion possible combinations with the Rubik's cube.

Since this one (I think) hasn't been mentioned, I've always had a soft spot for The Butthole Surfers' version of Hurdy Gurdy Man.

According to the Radio Times, King Creosote will be on this show tonight so it could be well worth tuning in. The recent Lemon Tree show was great.

The RGU IT system has blacklisted this site, so all I get is a big 'Access Denied'. Pretty ironic....

doors are likely to be at 8pm but this will be confirmed closer to the time
Sorry to be so dull in my first ever post, but....are doors still for 8pm?
